Guapacha Showband

A high energy group who entertains, interacts with the audience and downright provides a show experience.

Guapacha Band and Latin Duo started 30 years ago in Cologne, Germany playing the finest Latin Jazz and Latin music throughout Europe. Eventually, the band relocated to the U.S. Under the direction of Gil Tower, the band has toured throughout Europe, Latin America and the U.S. The band's uniqueness is the entertainment they provide with live dancing from the singers to the musicians in the whole band. The band can be as big as 15 piece to as small as a duo. When picking the duo, the group plays with the band's pre-recorded music featuring singer Gil Tower and instrumentalist David Diaz.

The group specializes in Cuban music, Latin Jazz, Jazz and all types of Latin music. The duo plays the same as the aforementioned, but can do classical music as well. We include DJ services without lights for all of our events and groups.

Our sound system is state of the art, we feature two sets of the Bose F1 Model Loudspeaker and Subwoofer systems. We use the world class Harmon Soundcraft signature mixers and the Yamaha MTU mixers for our Latin Duo. Our microphone cables are the top notch Mogami and Canare cables. As for our microphones, we feature the Shure beta 58, Shure 58 Dynamic and Sennheiser mics.

Main members of the group:

Gil Tower has performed as flutist and singer for the following stars: Thalia, Angela Carrasco, Alvaro Torres, Cachao, Celia Cruz, Pete Escovedo, Celia Cruz and Tito Puente.

David Diaz is a multi-instrumentalist (sax, clarinet and digital wind instruments) who has performed with the following greats: Rene Fleming, Kalman Bloch, Boston Brass, Bill Watrous, Kenny Burrell, Hubert Laws, George Clinton and Sheila E.

Place to allow placement of one or two sets of loudspeaker with subwoofer (the compact BOSE F1 system) plus placement of mixing board 4'×5'.
