We are proud to be a "Top Performer" on this site.
We are basically a Country Rock cover band that is very interactive with our audience and play a lot of upbeat dance tunes in the genres of Rockabilly, Country, Blues, Indie and both Soft and Hard Rock from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000+
(Something for everyone plus we can tailor our songs towards our audiences and are very flexible and easy to work with).

Going Places played many different genres! From Country to Rock, OLD and NEW. Very pleasant and easy to listen to. They were a good ending to our event. Look forward to hearing them again in the future!!

What to expect
Our band is made up of 5 full time members.
It consists of a rhythm guitarist/lead vocalist, and a fantastically talented lead guitar player.
We also have our accomplished bass player who loves to entertain folks and a multi instrument musician that plays mouth harp, saxophonist, steel guitar, lead and rhythm guitar and does backing vocals and finally, a drummer whose numerous drum and rhythm patterns keep our audiences dancing up a storm.
We have all been singing and playing music in some form or fashion for most of our lives (see our biographies).
We are outgoing, down to earth, fun loving folks who love to interact and have fun with the people we are playing for.
We will have your event goers dancing, singing along with us and having a great time.
About
Going Places is:
Tom Gordon
Tom is a singer songwriter that has been in various bands over his life. He plays rhythm guitar and sings lead and backing vocals.
Tom is a super friendly guy and a ham that has never met a stranger.
Mike Scanlon
Mike plays lead guitar and writes songs for the band.
He is a blues man from Mississippi that has
been playing blues since his early teens and we would match him against any lead guitarist in Iowa.
Tim Laughrin
Tim is our precision but creative bassist and he has enjoyed playing music with numerous bands throughout his life.
Steve Jeffries
Steve is a superb multi instrument musician that plays mandolin, rhythm and lead guitar, steel guitar, keyboard, harmonica, saxophone and the mouth harp. He also sings lead, backing vocals and harmonies.

Dylan Barras
Dylan has been playing drums for about 15 years and has a BS in music.
He was a drum captain in high school and college and along with playing with us he likes to jam with Metal bands.
He is a dynamic personality behind his drum kit and can play multiple genres with equal precision and enthusiasm.
Our audiences love his rhythms and beats.

All we need is a 110 volt outlet.
We have a analog 2400 watt rms QSC power amp, Yamaha Mix board, two 300 Watt Powered Speakers
two passive 12 inch speakers and two 15 inch speakers that can be elevated.
