Giovanna Maropo

Born in Paraíba (BR), soprano Giovanna Maropo has been participating in several music festivals
in Brazil and abroad, taking classes with leading professionals, such as Marcel Boone, Lucia
Duchoňová, Eiko Senda, Gabriella Pacce, Susana Gaspar, Francisco Campos and Nicolau de
Figueiredo. She worked as soloist with orchestras such as Mozarteum Brasileiro and Orquestra
Sinfônica da Paraíba and performed on stages such as Teatro L'Occitane (BR), Teatro Solís (UY)
and Carnegie Hall (NY, USA). She has experience as an art educator (singing/choir) and a
passion for dance and theater. Giovanna holds a bachelor’s degree in music – Vocal Performance
from Federal University of Paraiba, Brazil, under Dr. Vianey Santos and a master's degree in
Vocal Performance from Syracuse University (New York, USA), under Professor Janet Brown.
