April 7, 2017POPERAzzi brought "Joy to the World and Pueblo"
POPERAzzi was a great hit in Pueblo! They were the second highest gross ticket sales concert for this season. Their performance was high energy, inspiring, and for the holidays, a great mix of holiday music to please one and all. We have had the pleasure of featuring them with our symphony, the Pueblo Symphony, for four wonderful concerts. Can't wait to work with them again!

Gig length: 20 - 90 minutes
What to expect
I offer several different performance options. I have backing/accompaniment options for symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, bands from 3-9 piece, just piano, or orchestral backing tracks.
Much of the music I perform is Italian in language or theme or popularized by Italian / Italian American singers. I do however also have plenty of music that is not Italian. I enjoy blending many styles of music from classical to the golden age of Broadway; Las Vegas swing and crooners to pop. I consider myself and ENTERTAINER. I enjoy taking an audience on a journey through, song, charm, stories, laughs, and heartfelt emotion.
I can perform solo shows from 20-90 minutes (with or without intermission. Can be broken up into smaller sets.
Also, for parties or corporate events I can do meet-and-greets or stroll / sing in costume/character as Luciano Pavarotti or a Venetian Gondolier named Gio D'Amore.
About
A mix of classic masculinity and charm, George DeMott captures the essence of the great singers of days gone by with his unique contemporary style. Singing opera to pop and everything in between, his performances have captured the hearts of listeners around the world. Classically trained, he holds degrees from UC Santa Barbara and the prestigious Eastman School of Music. In the opera world, he has performed several classic Tenor roles with Orlando, Glimmerglass, Virginia, Illinois, Peoria, and others. Additionally, George has also been the winner of several awards and competitions that include the 1993 Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition’s regional finals in Los Angeles and he was also a recipient of the National Italian-American Foundation’s Luciano Pavarotti Scholarship.
Although he enjoys singing many styles of music, his heart and voice shine in the new Pop-Opera genre best reflected in his work with the dynamic vocal trio, POPERAZZI. This energetic and versatile trio has performed with some of the top orchestras in North America including Atlanta, Detroit, Edmonton, Naples, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Corpus Christi, Pasadena and Philadelphia and more. Although being born and raised in Rochester, NY, George currently lives in Charlotte, NC but he still puts his talents to work performing all across the country.
George has also been a featured guest entertainer aboard several cruise ships, namely Crystal Cruises, bringing his love of Pop-Opera to audiences all over the world. His shows have been well received and praised by celebrities such as Patrick Swayze, Barbara Walters, Regis Philbin, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor, and even Mario Lanza’s daughter Ellisa Lanza-Bregman who said, “…George is very talented. His grace and ease with the audience reminded me of my father Mario Lanza. He too was from a very large Italian family and, like George, was very proud of his Italian American heritage…”
Additional booking notes
DEPENDING ON THE GIG I may have sound equipment. For smaller-scale gigs that are only requiring orchestral backing tracks and/or piano, I do have a Fender PA system that can accommodate my needs. I have a cordless microphone as well.
For larger scale shows or shows on stage, I would need venue to provide sound (cordless mic, two sound monitors, and possibly D/I for my computer if I am to run backing tracks). Also sound tech. This can all be discussed as per client's desires.
I do not provide any lighting or stages for any performances.
If a band / orchestra is desired then client must provide all sound and lighting equipment, stage, chairs and music stands, if necessary.
If meet-and-greet or stroll and sing is desired, I would just sing acapella with no mic. I do have cordless mic that could be used in this situation as well. Client would also need to provide photographer if that is desired.
