Dear Prospective Customer,
Hiring a bagpiper for most people is a once in a lifetime event. It is usually for a big event like a wedding or funeral. You bagpiper should be someone who isn't using your event to practice and improve their skills. You shouldn't hire anyone whom you haven't seen perform on video.
I have been playing the bagpipes for 50 years and playing events on a full time basis for the last 25 years. I was a pretty fierce competitor back in the 70's and worked my way to the top grades in the Pacific Coast Pipe Band Association.

We stumbled upon gigsalad as we googled a local bagpiper .
In the most difficult of times for our family, Gary responded to our need. Truthfully we didn’t know what we needed…only that we wanted a bagpiper at this celebration of life. Gary not only responded to our message, just politely asked if he could call (at midnight)…we were so relieved and truly blessed when Gary worked thru the funeral with us. He gave us ideas and suggestions, to accommodate our requests. On the day of, we had a slight change and he stepped right in to help us.
Everyone was very impressed with him and we had about 30 firemen in our audience.
If I ever have the need again. Gary will be my only choice.

What to expect
My audience will probably experience everything from joy to sadness depending on the occasion. I play a lot of funerals and weddings. I also do a 30 minute performance for parties called a "Bagpipergram". This program has a lot of variety of music and some education thrown in.
About
I started out as a piano player back in the 6th Grade. I was very motivated and wanted to be a good pianist. After moving around as my father was transferred I started playing the bagpipes in a High School Marching Band. I took up the instrument because I wanted to play in a Marching Band. The Director told me that it was 9 notes with no sharps or flats and I felt that I could learn to play quickly as we would be moving again shortly. After we did move, I played with various bagpipe bands in and around the Los Angeles area. I also competed in bagpipe competitions. I was very serious about this instrument and still am. Today I am a full time bagpiper teaching about 40 students per week, I have a bagpipe band called The Lord of The Lord of the Isles Pipe Band that plays locally here in Bucks County. I also sell bagpipes for Gibson Bagpipes of Willoughby, OH and Wallace Bagpipes of Glasgow, Scotland.
I play weddings, funerals and special events on a regular basis. I play an extensive repertoire to accommodate any event.
