Over the years, Gary has learned that the most meaningful ceremonies are never really about scripts or formalities — they’re about connection. One of the things he loves most about officiating weddings is hearing the personal vows couples share with each other and witnessing the emotion, commitment, and love that make every ceremony unique. Those moments continue to inspire him personally and deepen his appreciation for marriage, family, and the relationships that matter most in life.

Gary Kelley has spent more than four decades connecting with people across San Diego through radio, television, live events, and weddings. Many couples — and often their parents — recognize him from his years on iconic San Diego radio stations including KCBQ, B100, KPRI, and KSON, as well as his work on ABC 10News and CW6.

Long before becoming a wedding officiant, Gary spent years helping couples celebrate some of the biggest moments of their lives through his San Diego entertainment company, providing music and hosting for thousands of weddings and special events. Throughout his broadcasting career, he introduced legendary artists and entertainers including The Beach Boys, The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, Robin Williams, and Adam Sandler at venues ranging from Jack Murphy Stadium to the San Diego Sports Arena.

Today, that experience naturally carries into the ceremonies he creates — relaxed, heartfelt, personal, and centered around the couple. Gary believes the best ceremonies don’t feel scripted or overly formal. They feel real. His approach combines professionalism with warmth, humor, sincerity, and genuine care for the people standing in front of him.

A native San Diegan, broadcaster, voice actor, teacher, and lifelong communicator, Gary brings decades of public speaking experience together with a calm, reassuring presence that helps couples feel at ease from the very beginning.
Outside of weddings, Gary continues hosting Grown-Up Radio, a music station created for the often-forgotten 55+ generation, celebrating the soundtrack of people’s lives.

Clear, comfortable sound helps everyone fully enjoy your ceremony — especially for outdoor and beach weddings, which are very popular throughout San Diego County.

Many venues and production teams already provide microphones for the ceremony. If not, I’ll help you choose the best option so your ceremony is easy for everyone to hear and enjoy.

Beach Weddings

Beach ceremonies often require portable sound equipment due to open space and ocean breeze.

DJ Sound & Setup

When providing DJ services, I arrive fully self-contained with all the professional sound and lighting needed for your celebration.

I provide:
• Professional sound system
• Wireless microphones (when needed)
• Dance floor lighting
• Complete DJ setup

All I require is standard power.

✔ One standard 15-amp household outlet works perfectly — no complicated setup or special hookups.

If your event is outdoors, simply confirm that power is available near the DJ area. If not, I’m happy to walk you through easy solutions so everything runs smoothly.
