Valencia High School’s Performing Arts Center recently had the pleasure of hosting Full-Throttle Funk for our fall concert event, and they delivered an incredible show from start to finish. Despite an unexpected technical issue at the beginning of the night, the band handled the situation with complete professionalism and poise. Carly, the band leader, kept the audience engaged and the music flowing seamlessly until the sound was restored — a true testament to their musicianship and adaptability.
Once the show got underway, Full-Throttle Funk filled the venue with energy, excitement, and top-tier musicianship. The students in attendance were completely captivated by the band’s performance, especially during a surprise collaboration featuring our own band director, Ryan Buchanan, on Roy Hargrove’s Strasburg St. Denis — a crowd favorite among our jazz students.
The evening wrapped up with a fun merch giveaway for an exclusive Full-Throttle Funk hat, which only added to the excitement of an already memorable night. The students were thrilled, the audience was on their feet, and the entire experience was nothing short of fantastic.
We highly recommend Full-Throttle Funk for any event looking for high-energy, professional, and engaging live entertainment. A five-star experience all around!

Full-Throttle Funk brought such a fun vibe to our Afterglow Market! Their sound, complete with some great saxophone work, had people dancing, smiling, and sticking around. The band was super easy to work with and just really kind folks all around. We’d gladly have them back anytime!

I loved having Full Throttle Funk perform at my event! They were great communicators so I felt confident everything would run smoothly and it did! They were considerate of their space, volume, and time.
Their performance was lively and truly so much fun. Our vendors and guests loved the energy they brought, I could see everyone movin and groovin as they walked around the market! It made the night that much more special.

Inspired by her time on the open road, touring saxophonist Carly Stock brings her new band, FULL-THROTTLE FUNK to the Los Angeles music scene. A little country, a little funky, and a LOT of fun, FULL-THROTTLE FUNK promises a high-energy performance perfect for any party, outdoor fair/event, festival stage, and more. FULL-THROTTLE FUNK's original arrangements of classics emphasize groove and improvisation that truly make each band member shine. Our unique instrumentation of two saxophonists/vocalists, guitar, bass, and drums (5-piece band) is sure to leave guests with something to talk about!
Bandleader/saxophonist/vocalist and Los Angeles native Carly Stock has been performing professionally since she was 12, and has extensive touring experience across the United States. Carly can be found performing at amusement parks like Disneyland and Dollywood (Nashville, TN), large theaters such as the Redlands Bowl, historic venues like Cicada Club (DTLA) or Lou Lous (San. Diego), and everywhere in between. FULL-THROTTLE FUNK is the perfect blend of funky grooves she grew up playing, and country western/Americana flair inspired by her time living in Texas and touring cross-country with her bandmates.
