September 24, 2026The Friends of Joe Swing Combo provided background music during dinner at the prestigious Centennial Celebration for the Turn Verein's Turner Hall location in Sacramento. The music was expertly delivered and at a volume that still allowed for conversations. Well done friends!

Our repertoire mostly consists of popular songs of all eras. Our musical style encompasses swing, bossa nova, blues, rock, ballad, waltz, and pop all executed in a jazz style that is suitable for both dancing and listening. We tailor our set list to the needs of the client and work closely with our clients to achieve their agenda. Timing and scheduling are an important part of any event. We do our best to accommodate real-time changes, so that our clients achieve a successful event.
Our music is mostly instrumental (~80%), but we do perform songs with vocals (our drummer is a talented singer). We also can pull in a talented vocal specialist we have worked with to supplement to our sound if the client prefers more singing.
We also dress the part wearing anything from tuxedos to pacific island casual and everything in between as preferred.
The Friends of Joe Swing Combo is comprised of 4 members of Sacramento's renowned Metro Swing Big Band. Each member of the band is a professional with decades of experience performing music in a wide variety of styles and settings. Most of us have taught or given private music lessons.
We provide our own sound equipment suitable for most venues. All we need is access to electrical power at the stage/performance area. If the performance is outdoors, we will require shelter from sun and/or rain.
