Francis McGrath
Overview
Combining years of experience from different bands and different styles, Francis McGrath creates a unique mood for formal or casual events. He seamlessly switches from jazz to pop to new age. Guests enjoy the background music until their ears are tickled by a familiar melody or pleasant memory.
If you do not have a piano, Francis can bring a Kurzweil PC4 keyboard and an amp that sounds great in big or small rooms, without drowning out conversations.

April 6, 2026Exactly what you want!
Francis did an amazing job playing piano indoors and keyboard outdoors at my wedding! He knew how to weave his playing between the toasts and he handled the environment well.

Francis did a fantastic job! I gave him an EXTREMELY difficult piece of sheet music to record to an MP3 as an anniversary gift for my husband. He kept in touch with me throughout the process, completed the project, and delivered it on time. The recording sounds wonderful and my husband was absolutely blown away. He hadn’t heard the song since 1992! Francis was a delight to work with, extremely talented, and a true professional. Francis took a good bit of time to familiarize himself the music and insisted on waiting till the piano was tuned to make final recording. I highly recommend him for any event requiring a highly skilled musician and entertainer.

November 29, 2025Wonderful experience!
Francis joined us for my friend's 50th birthday party and played for her guests. He was communicative up front, we came up with a combined list of songs together, and he was a hit with the crown. We would absolutely work with him again!

November 24, 2025I HIGHLY recommend FRANCIS McGRATH !
Francis played at a surprise private dinner party that I had for my wife at her favorite restaurant in Austin. He played for 4 hours and was fantastic. I highly recommend Francis for anyone needing a great piano player that has an EXTENSIVE Repertoire. He was also very accomodating in learning a few of my wife's favorite songs beforehand. Also, with our event being so close to Christmas, he asked if he could throw in some holiday music and I readily agreed.
In conclusion, if you chose to book FRANCIS McGRATH, YOU WILL BE VERY GLAD YOU DID!

September 2, 2025Birthday Bash
Francis McGrath is an absolute gem! We hired him to play piano for my husband's 60th birthday party, and he was the highlight of the evening. We had some very specific requests, including "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin, and the very complex "Roundabout" by Yes.
Francis is not only incredibly talented but also so humble and dedicated. He took the time to practice "Roundabout" for weeks leading up to the party, and his hard work paid off. The performance was flawless and astounded our guests. It was a perfect rendition that honestly brought my husband to tears—he was so incredibly touched.
Beyond his talent, Francis is a true professional. He was prompt, communicated perfectly in the days leading up to the event, and was gracious with all of our guests. I would recommend him without a moment's hesitation to anyone looking for a top-tier musician. He's simply the best!
