Four on the Floor

If we perform in a care home, we usually sing a 30-minute set followed by a 30-minute singalong. This can be repeated in more than one wing for different audiences. If we do a "roving set", for a business association for example, we usually sing 3 or 4 songs in one location and then rove to the next location. We often sing outdoors in front of businesses or we may "rove" indoors into a coffee shop or other venue. If we are singing on stage or at a private party, we will normally do a 30-minute set followed by a 15-minute break and then repeat for up to 3 hours. We don't generally need any sound equipment but if the venue provides equipment, we are flexible and can sing with one omnidirectional mic or two or four regular microphones. We do a little MC'ing between numbers if we have a captive audience and we apply humour whenever possible! Our set consists mainly of pop covers with a few oldies thrown in and we always sing a cappella in 4-part harmony.

We have been entertaining audiences with 4-part vocal harmony for over four years and LOVE it!

We are an auditioned quartet with Lions Gate Chorus, an internationally award-winning chorus of 100+ women. Four on the Floor was drawn together by our unbeatable blend of warm voices. We are all professional women in another life (teacher, engineer, accountant, lawyer) but our biggest joy is performing in song.

We are equally at home singing at large events (Steveston Salmon Festival, Bright Nights in Stanley Park, Honda Celebration of Life, Richmond Night Market, Noel Festival in Surrey) and more intimate settings (Bethshan Care Home, Maples Residences, Langley Gardens) as well as busking or roving as singers or carollers in various locations in the lower mainland (West End, Point Grey, Cambie District, Sunset on Fraser).

We are nothing if not flexible and we love to add a singalong component to our performances whenever that is requested. We'd like to teach the world to sing (oh wait, did someone say that already?).

We have no special requirements for lighting, staging or sound. We are compact and ready to go!
