About

Lindsey Kovach is a professional flutist and educator. Based in Houston, Texas, she is an active performer and private flute lesson instructor. She recently received her Master's degree in flute performance from Florida State University.

Lindsey is an accomplished performer, having served as principal flute for the FSU Symphony Orchestra and the FSU Wind Orchestra. In recognition of her artistry, she was awarded the prestigious Patsy Drury Hejl Scholarship for Outstanding Musical Achievement, praised by the selection committee for her “expression, fluidity, tone, and musicianship”. She had the honor of performing with the 2021 National Intercollegiate Band in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was a winner of the National Flute Association’s Collegiate Flute Choir Competition in 2022, performing at the annual convention in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently, Lindsey won a spot in the 2024 Florida Flute Association’s Advanced Masterclass and was a featured soloist in a series of performances of Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto for schools in Thomasville, Georgia.

An advocate of new music, Lindsey is actively involved in commissioning two new works for flute and percussion. Established in 2022, her flute and percussion chamber ensemble Duo 38 has performed at national and regional conventions. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Cascade Wind Quintet, a Tallahassee-based chamber group committed to promoting new quintet repertoire.

With seven years of flute lesson teaching experience, she has served as the applied flute instructor for the multiple music organizations. Her students have achieved success in honor band auditions and acceptances to summer music programs.
