I’ve been entertaining for 33 years and I am one of the top entertainers in the Chicagoland area. I can entertain from 2 yrs and up so even the youngest children will be entertained.
I can do anything you want, but the bottom line is that the children will be laughing and entertained the entire time I am there.
I do circus style comedy, puppets, live ukulele music, magic, very nice balloons, face painting and temporary tattoos. If you want the entire family totally entertained call me.
The Kids absolutely loved it! I had Finnegan's Rainbow of Fun for my daughters 4th Birthday Party - kids ages 3-8 came. He came out of costume - face painted all the kids- had the kids dress him up as a Hobo Clown and then did tricks! It was a Hit! Great idea to come out of costume, this way kids don't get scared and it teaches the kids not to be afraid of clowns. All of my friends and family who came loved it!
Needed some last minute entertainment for our daughters first birthday party so we hired Steve here from Finnegans Rainbow of Fun. He was very professional and prompt on his emails and phone calls to me... showed up early to the gig and the kids were definitely entertained. We had about 8 kids under the age of 6 to keep entertained... at times it was hard to keep their attention but he did manage to make them laugh. His tricks were outdated and old fashioned, used very old props and old jokes. Some of the jokes the kids didn’t understand but the adults got a chuckle out of it. He did some face painting for the kids (that was ok- messy but ok). Used older puppets and props. Would have gave 5 stars if things were a bit more updated during his “show” and not so messy. Messy meaning he didn’t do that great of a job cleaning up after himself when he left after face painting and after his show. So, I’m being generous with a 4 star review. He played some guitar and did some songs with the kids. The kids liked his guitar and his colorful wigs and noses. Overall, it was a kids party and they were entertained! Thanks much for the last minute entertainment. The only advice I would give would be to not classify yourself as a clown in the listing because that’s not really the service that was provided... painting and making yourself up as a clown in front of the kids isn’t really a clown. And by doing that it seemed to bore them and they seemed very uninterested in that. When someone is hiring a “clown” for a party they don’t expect to have the clown do their makeup in front of their guests- it was weird for the kids to see and for the adults as well. Just my 2 cents. Not something for a first birthday party.
Response from Finnegan's Rainbow of Fun:
The client clearly doesn't understand what a clown is and then goes on to say I made the children laugh like that is a small thing. To quote her " Overall, it was a kids party and they were entertained!" That's what I get paid to do and that rates a 5 star review every time regardless of what she thinks. The definition of a clown is a funny person and the children laugh from the time I walked in until the time I left. Turning into a clown is part of a comedy routine which is very funny and the children were not bored. They laughed through the entire routine. What I get praised for and have dozens of 5 star review on other sites for is turning into a clown in front of the children because many children are afraid of clowns and turning into one in front of them eliminates the chance of scaring someone when I walk into the party. It teaches them what a clown is. To say turning into a clown in front of the children doesn't make you a clown I'm sad to say is just shear ignorance. Also not understanding that a hobo clown wears old funny looking cloths and uses old tattered props because I am a make believe homeless person is just not understanding what a hobo is and not understanding clown humor. I am just hoping when people read this review they will see the line that say, the children laughed, the children were entertain, I came early and I was very professional. If that doesn't merit a 5 star review, nothing does. If hiring someone who makes the children laugh and entertains them isn't the type of person you want to hire, you don't want a clown. Also not understanding that there might be a little mess to clean up after a party is not being very realistic. There was a little paint left on the table that needed to be wiped up but that is normal and expected. By the way, I don't understand why she gave the review. As I left her husband said he wanted to give me a 5 star review. This is like some of the reviews you see on Yelp that just doesn't make any sense.
Mr. Finnegan was very nice. My child was too young to know what was going on but the other kids really enjoyed themselves and the parents were very happy with his performance as well. I would definitely ask for Mr. Finnegan again.
Response from Finnegan's Rainbow of Fun:
Strange how some people think there's something wrong with giving a 5 star review. The children loved it, the parents loved it and she would hire me again but it is only a 4 star review. What then is a 5 star review? Hopefully this is enough to convince someone else to hire me.
