I like to start with a few quick hitting jabs to loosen the crowd, then I mix in a bit story telling for the haymaker. I am a comic best suited for a rauchy setting, but I do well in all crowds from the Laugh Factory to a hole in the wall bar! Comedy is a passion and I enjoy it more everyday!
FUNNY BY NATURE!
My sense of humor is rooted in tragedy. After losing both parents at a young age, I was raised by my grandparents. I use the term ‘raised’ loosely, because the age gap made it hard for them to keep up with me. Growing up in the wild environment that is the West-side of Chicago, I grew up faster than most, having been introduced to an onslaught of adult activities and content early and often. There was never a time where my young eyes were shielded from anything they shouldn't have been seeing. Some of my greatest memories are of me, staying up late, watching B.E.T. Comic-view. Mature for my age, I understood comedy that my peers wouldnt understand for years. While, I loved to laugh at Comic-view, I didnt find much funny in my personal life, except for my friend Daniel, he was hilarious to me. After the death of my paternal grandfather I would move from the West-side of Chicago, to Bellwood, IL with my maternal grandparents. It is Bellwood, I would meet one of greatest friends to date, Quinton Childs. Life had hardened me in my youth, not completly, but enough to the point where I was known for fighting and not taking any shit. Bellwood was a lot more easy going than I was use to and there was a lot more ‘Yo Mama’ jokes being thrown around than I was comfortable with. I softened a bit when I met Quinton in 6th grade at McKinley Elementary. Quinton who became my friend quiclkly, weighed about 80lbs, but was funny as all get out. His stature and goodhearted nature made his barage of jokes land softly and it was this scenario that brought out the best of my sense of humor. Over the years Ive had a host funny friends, Daniel, Quinton, Jeremy Hill, Chevy Henry, Henry Norris, Melvin Rowe, Demarrious Johnson and so on....But none were more influential on me hitting the stage with my comedic talents than Kyrie. Kyrie is friend from college who is also a comic. After killing a show a at Bar10doors ‘Da funny people’ open mic, I congratulated him and he responded by saying, “You know that should be you up there right??” His question got me to thinking. Comedy had always been a passion of mine and I had essentially had been practicing my craft on social media for years at that point, so I said “fuck it” and got to work. In the winter of 2017 at the age of 29, I hit the stage for the first time and Ive been chasing that high ever since.
