Michelle was easy and quick to communicate with. When my other planned artist fell though I found Michelle. She came prepared and was vey accommodating to the event. She was superb with the kids and fun! I wanted upbeat Irish jogs and coastal music and she delivered. She even played happy birthday for the celebration. No hesitation to recommend her for your fiddle event.

May 16, 2023Talented, came prepared and amazing to work with!
We had Michelle join us for our non-profit High Tea Mother's Day event and she won the crowds over. We were so happy to have her on board our vintage train as she preformed for each coach. Couldn't recommend her more, especially to the locals of Uxbridge and the Durham Region!

October 1, 2022Amazing, warm-hearted and so much fun!
My partner and I booked Michelle for our wedding and could not be happier with the performances and her contributions to our special day! She played the violin throughout the procession, during the signing and cocktail hour, and then switched to a rousing jigs and reels after supper before finishing off with a beautiful violin rendition of Wild Mountain Thyme for our first dance. Working with Michelle was always easy and pleasant. Will recommend her for anyone looking for a violinist or a fiddler for their event!

About
🎻 Hello there! I’m Michelle.
I am a Solo Musician, Entertainer, and Fiddler who absolutely loves performing in unique settings and helps hosts bring their events to life.
With over 49 years of experience, I know exactly what it takes to ensure you and your audience have a wonderful, memorable time.
I strive to ensure you the person who is booking me feel that I am giving 110% to ensure your venue or special day or momment runs as smootly as possible so the memories are cherished for being a perfect day. I know and you know there is no such thing as perfection. It's how lifes flaws are handled and improvised on the spot that make it a lovely day to remember. That's why you want someone with tons and I mean tones of experience like I have. As you already know my musical journey started at a very earily age of travelling to the NWT to play my first gig. It just so happened that Shirley Eikhard, who wasn't known as the brilliant, multi-Juno Award Winning Canadian Singer-songwritter who was famously inducted into the Canadian Songwritters Hall of Fame who wrote "Something to Talk about" was known yet. Of course I was 12 so I didn't really care at that point either. As I continued down the professional pathway of a TMA Union musician I had many great adventures.
My summers filled with Fiddle Competitions every weekend throughout the summer and fall in Ontario and Quebec and Barri Vermont but during the week in the summer I was hired to play at Christy Pits Park and High Park with the Harold Harton Orchestra to play for Square Dances which were free at the time to anyone who wanted to dance. Then every Wednesday we would also perform up in Muskoa playing at the Windamere House providing the same fun to people who were on the resort.
I am a North American 2nd Place Champion Fiddler (from the Shelburne, Ontario competitions), so I always strive for musical perfection—but always with a lot of fun and flare!

Influences and inspiration
I have many people who have influenced my love for music and performing. I love Alison Krauss; her beautiful tone quality is outstanding. I even use the same microphone she has used, a Shure SM58. Her attitude about how her instrument sounds within a band setting is an important standard to establish. When playing anything melodious, I always try to make my sound eloquent. To me, vibrato is a crucial part of the sound, but it should never be used enough to dominate it. Growing up, I listened to the Carpenters, and I feel the same way about Karen Carpenter's golden voice. I would listen to her songs over and over, and to this day, I still get that same feeling listening to her tone quality. It is just beautiful and iconic. I grew up in the Disco era, I absolutely love rhythm, funk, and a serious pulse, even though I play the violin and fiddle. Even when a rhythm is somewhat basic, it needs to be rock-solid because it is the driving force of any song or arrangement. Professional players don't play basic—they play solid. Jazz is a newfound love that I discovered over the last twenty years. However, I grew up listening to big band songs and arrangements because my parents remembered music from that era. I often thought I was born at the wrong time because I love the style of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and the Andrews (link hidden)ople might think that as a fiddler, my main influences would only be other fiddlers, but that isn't the case. My most important influence was my private teacher, who was like a second father to me. Victor Passowisty who taught me the Violin and how to play the Fiddle. But, he taught me to be a Musician first and a Fiddler second. I guess that is why I love all kinds of music. It inspired me to obtain a music degree and teach in a secondary school music program, where I always tried to incorporate my teenagers' personal music tastes into what they learned to keep them (link hidden)day, I still listen to (link hidden)91 daily. I deeply admire the improvisation involved in jazz playing, and I enjoy improvising over melodies myself. The more I practice this style, the more comfortable I feel taking solos in a band setting. The greats I will always enjoy include Miss Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Huey Lewis and the News, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, LeAnn Rimes, and Bruno Mars, just to name a (link hidden)y Corrections MadeSpelling: Fixed espically (especially), arra (era), arrnagement (arrangement), encorporate (incorporate), Leanne (LeAnn), and Glen Millar / Andrew Sisters (Glenn Miller / Andrews Sisters)
Setup requirements
Depending on the location most outdoor settings would require a shady spot to perform. Most settings I can use just my Violin and prject the sound. Most other venues would require my Mic to be with a sound board and speaker set up. Obviously in a band set
