“Kamal was outstanding! He helped organize a flash mob outside of Walmart to surprise my husband. Wonderfully funny and energetic! ”
Faris Hytiaa
Overview
I was named a New Face of Comedy with Just For Laughs, and featured at all televised Canadian comedy festivals. I've toured multiple countries and have worked with the likes of Hasan Minhaj, Neal Brennan, Kyle Kinane, Mo Amer and more. In 2026, I became the first Alberta-based comedian to be nominated for a Juno award. I can work clean and cater acts towards specific audiences and events.
Born in Toronto to Sudanese parents and then raised in Alberta, I bring a unique mix of storytelling and observational humour to the stage. Known for my relaxed delivery, honest storytelling and quick wit, my unpredictable style makes for big laughs and unforgettable crowd work moments.

April 8, 2025Killed it at our community event
Faris was the opener for our comedy showcase event which was a volunteer appreciation with a wide variety of ages. He warmed up the crowd like a pro and his local jokes paired with his Sudanese Canadian perspective were just fantastic. I had multiple attendees tell me he was their favourite of the evening and even ask how to hire him. Thanks Faris! We will keep you in mind for future events for sure.
