Eventful Magic of Dennis Blanchard

With an interest in magic since the age of eight, I began performing professionally over 20 years ago. I now present my show at several parties and functions a month. I also perform weekly at area restaurants, delighting patrons right at their table. I got my start as a professional magician while working part time at a restaurant as a cook. Performing at tables just for fun after my shift was so successful that the restaurant hired me as their resident magician.

My philosophy of magic is that it must be entertaining and fun, and that it also is an art form. The point is not to fool, but to invoke a sense of wonder and amazement. With a degree in Education and many years performing experience, My love for people is apparent throughout the wonder-packed performances. I demonstrate that magic is really having fun with your imagination by carefully selecting effects that both entertain and mystify. From multiplying your money to mind reading - there’s lots of audience participation. Your guests will feel special, and will have lots to talk about. Magic can be a great “ice breaker!"

The biggest obstacle to bookings is convincing adults that magic is not just for children. In truth, grownups enjoy magic more than children do. This is because children view magic as a challenge more than as an art or entertainment. They actually do not like being fooled. I don't think of magic as "fooling" people, but rather as giving them a break from reality and their troubles for a few minutes. People are always surprised at how much they love what I do -- and that they would not have thought of it as an option.

I provide the answer to what to do while waiting; waiting for food; waiting for a seat; waiting for the bride and groom; waiting for the DJ or dancing; waiting to feel engaged in conversation with other guests -- an "ice breaker". Also, you will be thanked for thinking of your guests enough to give them this special and unique -- and fun -- entertainment.
