Hi, I'm Monica!
I fell in love with Zumba at my very first class back in 2004, trained in New York City, and honestly stumbled into Zumba Gold when a senior center asked if I could teach a modified class. I said yes and never looked back.
I fell in love with the people, the purposeful pace, and the joy of making movement feel safe and possible for everyone. What started as maybe a class or two became my full-time passion. I now teach more than 15 classes a week across Connecticut and Rhode Island.
A self-proclaimed fish out of water from San Diego, I specialize in showing fellow "uncoordinated humans" that they can absolutely rock a Zumba Gold class — and have a blast doing it.
Sound
I bring a professional Bose tower speaker system capable of covering groups of up to 125 people, no sound system required from your venue. I just need access to one standard electrical outlet nearby.
Flooring
This is the most important requirement for a safe class. I require an indoor space with a wood, laminate, tile, or sprung floor. Low-grade carpet is acceptable but will require significant modifications to the class. Concrete floors and outdoor pavement are not suitable and cannot be accommodated.
Space
I bring all of my own equipment and set up independently , you just provide the space and I'll handle the rest.

My greatest hero is Jack LaLanne, the man who spent a lifetime proving that movement is medicine and that age is never a reason to stop.
Beyond that, I'm endlessly inspired by any fitness instructor who can make you forget you're working out , because they have you immersed in music and the moment.
That feeling is what I chase every single time I teach, and what I want every one of my participants to walk away with.
As mentioned I bring my own sound system, but here I would like to mention that participants should be ready for a fitness class. Dance or fitness sneakers, comfortable clothes, and water should be available.
