When I come to perform, you will see professionalism with time, audience/crowd participation; respect for you, my band (if used) and myself....and of course a smile!

My style of music is a bit eclectic as I love all types of music. For your event, feel free to request R&B, soul, jazz, speak easy, country or top 40 hits.

Eva! was born Evangeline Chijioke Njoku in America’s “Chocolate City” of Washington D.C. but proudly claims her African roots with her Nigerian parents as she relishes in her diverse culture. Full of energy as a child, Eva! developed the bug to perform as early as the age of four. She began writing poetry (and songs) at the age of nine with dreams to one day bring her lyrics to life. She has performed (and won) several vocal competitions in the DC Metropolitan area.

Eva! was honored to find herself on New York’s historic Apollo Theatre stage singing songs from a few of her favorite artists such as Diana Ross, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman and Barbara Streisand. After taking a break from the industry to raise her daughter, Eva! decided to live out her dream and is determined to sing and share her lyrics. She has since performed “On Stage” at the nation’s finest jazz and supper club: DC’s Blues Alley, as well as, the Odyssey Cruises!!! Never one to dismiss a good challenge, Eva extended her artistry into local theatre—completing four week runs for plays such as musicals “RAGTIME” and “Wild Party”; as well as the episodic play ”Vagina Monologues”. She has supported background vocals on several other projects including “Turn to Dust” album by native Washingtonian Wes Glover, Jr. aka “DJ StrongSongz;” and the poetic-styled single “Autobiography of L.O.V.E.” with local DJ “Smooth.”

Eva! released her 1st CD project “BitterSuite Love” on November 8th, 2015; she is currently working on the visual projects for that effort—as well as completing new songs she plans to release as singles. Producers on that project included “Treasure Big Trez” of T-Rise Productions; #WIRC; and PC Beats aka ProblumChild. Although Eva! continues to front a number of local bands in the DC Metropolitan area, she has her sight set on touring the nation with her band BitterSuite and writing for other artists.

For this artist, her journey has just begun…

I travel with my microphones (and speakers for solo performances); but note that depending on the gig, I may require sound technicians or the funds quoted will include those fees. PS: sound is everything and you can't always depend on the establishment of your event providing that sound. I am happy to work with you on this...it's so important : )
