Ermitt 'Mr. Blues' Williams and the Oscar Rivers Trio delivered a wonderful show to a packed house as part of the 4th Annual Charleston Jazz Festival...They had the crowd on their feet and applauding song after song!

Perhaps it was inevitable that Ermitt "Mr.Blues" williams would live his passion as a vocalist and entertainer having been born in a metropolis that fostered musicians, writers and actors... Harlem, New York, It was the very culture in which he lived and grew that defines his artistry today. He is a playwright who produced the play, The Day I Met Joe Williams. He also wrote, produced and performed in his autobiography, The Mr. Blues Story, which premiered at South of Broadway Theater in North Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Blues has also graced the stage as an actor for the past 20 years performing in many Off Broadway Plays including, The Love Story; Temptation, and Somebody's Calling My Name, all produced by Mamie Perfect and Diary Frum De Neck Gullah/ Geechee Matriarchs, produced by Carlie Towns-a Charleston, South Carolina resident. He played in The Blues Review in Charleston produced by Charles Wyke Smith and Take Me Back to Harlem based on Langston Hughes's Less B. Semple by W. Lavonne Griffin.
Still Mr. Blues is driven by his passion as vocalist and has performed with the world Famous Charles Ward Ink Spots, Bronx River jazz Band, Samuel Brown's Big Band Experience, Andy Kirks Foundation Band, Bob Cunnngham, The 3 B's, Larry 88 Keyes, Les Kurtz Quartet, Bross Townsend Trio, Oscar Rivers Trio, Howard Brown, Touch of Class, Calimese Quartet, Ann Caldwell's Band and his own Band A New York State of Mind.
Mr. Blues has performed at many venues throughout his career performing as vocalist naming a few show Time at The Apollo, Jazz discovery on Bet, World Famous Lenox Lounge, Stamford Center for the Arts, Harlem Week, New York Bicentennial festival and host of Colleges, Iridium Jazz Club, Merlot Restaurant, Village Gate, Terri Blues, Chicago Blues Clubs also Coop City Jazz Festival. The Black Farmers Conference,The George Town Rice Festival, Big Eyed Blues Festival,also Nursing Homes, performed for Veterans, Lutheran Jazz Church, Myrtle Beach Gold Key Jazz Society, How are Thou Jazz Club, The Harvest Point Center, Scott Grand Business Center, Jenkins Orphanages, Avery Institute,North Charleston Jazz Festival,The Seashore Farmers Lodge 767 on James Island,Johns Island Sea Festival, South of Broadway Theater, Charleston's Annual Jazz Festival, The Black Freedom Farms, NAIFA Sales Conference, CAMI, Charties, Private Parties, Banquets, Weddings and Radio Stations and Cable TV.
Mr. Blues is one of South Carolina's outstanding performers as such was inducted into South Carolina's encyclopedia of Jazz and Blues Musicians in 2016.
To his credit he also recorded two CD's one to his favorite vocalist Mr. Joe Williams which was recorded before a live audience in New York City at Cobi's Place the CD is called "A Tribute to Joe Williams and the "Just for You."

I was influence by many great performers such as Joe Williams, Sammy Davies, Arthur Prysock, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, BB king,Lou Rwals, I came up at a time when their was a lot music in Harlem in a since it really hard to say who or what has influence me. I had great teachers and all I am doing is dissimulating what's in me.
