June 13, 2019I hired Erik to accompany me (violinist) on a couple of challenging pieces for a video recording—that was the best decision!
He was notably easy to work with and ever happy to musically adjust any area as requested. He always wanted to confirm I was satisfied.
I was also having some booking diffilties with finding a location and he went above and beyond and offered a location for our rehearsals.
He diligently attended and prepared for all requested rehearsals and was in perfect condition at time of video recording.
I could not have asked for a better accompanist. He is friendly/down to earth, his talent is amazing, and you can see his genuine love for music.

Erik Flaten has worked as a pianist, music director, and conductor in both opera and musical theater. He was Choir Director for Hugh Jackman's World Tour; Music Director of the National Tour of Cabaret; and Substitute Conductor for the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Sweeney Todd. As a pianist and vocal coach, Erik was an adjunct faculty member at NYU. He performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the West Seattle Symphony. Erik lives in Philadelphia with his wife, two children, and miniature dachshund.
