February 19, 2024Best In-Service Speaker Ever
Eric is inspirational, motivating, and dynamic. He had our staff totally engaged. One minute he had them laughing and the next minute in tears. His message is a must for any school district. He puts why we do what we do into perspective. I want Eric to come back to speak to our students. Many of my staff commented that this was our best inservice day ever. I highly recommend Eric to come speak to your students and staff. You certainly will not be disappointed.

September 22, 2022Amazing energy, enthusiasm and positivity
We brought Eric in to speak to our IT Group as part of our Learning/Discussion club. We enjoyed his talk, his relaying of personal story, and the underlying message of perseverance, resiliency and goal achievement was very well received by the entire group. I highly recommend having Eric speak to your group, large or small.

November 29, 2017Excellent Speaker
I hired Mr. McElvenny for our Veterans Day Programs. He spoke twice and was motivational, inspiring, and entertaining during both of his presentations. Everyone can take something way from his presentation no matter where you are in life. I would hire Mr. McElvenny again for any event I would host.

About
Eric is an endurance athlete living in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy while preparing for his service as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer. Eric deployed three times as a Marine and on his final tour, an incredible experience in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, was wounded after stepping on an IED. Eric suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee, a life-changing opportunity that began his next journey. Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, Eric made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon. On his journey from the hospital bed in southern California to the finish line in Kona Hawaii, he realized that the challenge and adversity he was up against and the techniques he used to reach the finish line could be used against the challenges we all entertain. When not training, racing and delivering inspiration, Eric can be found with his wife and three children.
