Eric and Aileen are an acoustic duo based in Brooklyn, NY. Eric is from Seattle and Aileen is from Portland, OR. They met in New York in 2009 and have been performing together ever since.
At heart their sound is intimate - Americana, country, folk, jazz, and even classical influenced piano, guitar and vocals – while on occasion they add upright bass and drums.
Live shows feature original songs and uniquely arranged covers like Stevie Wonder’s Superstition and Cat Stevens’ The Wind.
Eric and Aileen love rich harmony and rhythm, strive to be easy on the ears, while not too easy, and value space and honesty.

Eric Elven and Aileen Asche met in New York City in the spring of 2009. Interestingly enough Aileen is a classically trained pianist from Portland, OR and Eric is a singer-songwriter from Seattle, WA. But it wasn’t until they both moved to New York, separately, in 2009 that they met and began creating music together.
Aileen moves easily between classical and jazz and has earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in piano and collaborative performance. Eric, on the other hand, has less formal training but has years of experience leading/co-leading a variety of duos and bands throughout his musical life. Happily their meeting turned out to be a good fit and soon thereafter they began playing as a duo and performing in local New York venues.
At heart, their folk/jazz-influenced sound is intimate – acoustic piano, guitar, vocal, and harmony vocal – while on occasion they add upright bass and drums. Their live shows feature original songs as well as some uniquely arranged covers such as Stevie Wonder’s Superstition and Cat Steven’s The Wind. They love rich harmony and rhythm, strive to be easy on the ears, while not too easy, and value space and honesty.
