Emma Casey is a Chicago-based flutist who has extensive experience with performance in a variety of settings. Casey has performed as a soloist, symphony musician, and chamber group member in both the U.S. and Europe and has studied with a myriad of well-renowned teachers.

Her debut as a solo performer in 2007 was hailed as " a gorgeous, totally effective French pastry of a performance"and earned her first prize in the Hays Symphony Young Artist Competition.

Casey can be heard on the Naxos music label and was recently featured on WFMT's "Spotlight on Roosevelt" with her performance of Francaix's "Quartet for Winds".

About

An experienced performer of solo, orchestral, and chamber repertoire, Casey is a confident and professional free-lance musician who is comfortable playing in a variety of settings. She is graduating in May with her Master's degree in Flute Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts where she is a student of Dionne Jackson. Casey has also coached with world-renowned flutists Emmanuel Pahud, Jennifer Gunn, Jeffrey Khaner, Bradley Garner, Amy Porter, Christina Jennings, and Greg Patillo.

Casey's performing experience extends beyond the States, and has included concert tours of England, France and Italy. Most recently, Casey performed as Principal Flutist at the Eutiner Festspiele in Eutin, Germany. In February of 2013, Casey played solo flute on CCPA"s Chicago premier performance of "Amelia", an opera by Daron Hagen.

An active chamber musician, Casey's performance of Francaix's "Quartet for Winds" was recently broadcast on 98.7WFMT's segment, "Spotlight on Roosevelt". Casey has also been featured in CCPA's Woodwind Chamber Music Showcase three times, most recently for her performance of Ravel's "Introduction and Allegro".
