Emerald Empire was the best choice we made for our wedding! I made the choice just based on their sound clips on their website because we live too far away and couldn't make it to any of their showcases, but I am happy to say they exceeded our expectations!
The guests and venue could not stop raving about how great the band was! Everyone had a fantastic time! Every single person at our wedding was on the dance floor! It was amazing! I have NEVER been to a wedding where everyone danced! It was great!
I loved that we were able to taylor the # of people in the band to suit our budget. We went with a 4 piece band which worked out perfectly for our venue and our budget. They provided MC service for us also which worked out so well! They made introductions and announcements which was helpful to give the night some structure.
Their planning page is so organized and easy to use and Richard was very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. On the planning page, we gave some suggestions for types of music we liked and they did such a great job creating the set list off of that. We loved every song they played and they even learned a song we requested literally a week before the wedding! I was blown away!
I can't possibly recommend them enough! They were reliable, professional and IMMENSELY TALENTED! I want to re-do the wedding just so I can dance all night to their music!
just got married a few weeks ago and these guys were so freaking good! leading up to the wedding, they were so responsive to any question we had. they worked with us every step of the way to make sure our big night reflected us. great personalities too! they really read the audience well and calibrated their performances perfectly to get everyone from grandma to grumpy teenage cousins up on the dance floor. would recommend them absolutely unconditionally.
Mike and his team did a wonderful job. The music for both our ceremony and the reception was perfect and beautiful and everything we could have hoped! It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch the video of our ceremony. Additionally, the music for the reception was the perfect combination of class and fun - they truly made our wedding a dazzling event in every way.
Manny with Emerald Empire was SO incredibly easy to work with. I had a million questions and he was quick to respond and helped me a ton. The band on the day of the wedding was beyond exceptional. All of our guests loved them & had the greatest time on the dance floor. I am not going to lie, we were a little nervous because you can't see the exact group of people perform together prior to your wedding but Emerald Empire's standards are so high that they wouldn't let less than perfection :) I would recommend them to anyone!
Mike Q. was our contact with the band. He was beyond helpful. He was very responsive with returning calls and emails while we planned the music for the wedding. The guests included several professional musicians and they had glowing comments and compliments about the band. Everyone danced all night. If you want a great experience, wonderful pricing, fantastic music for your wedding...This is your band!!!!
This band was fantastic. Mike Q. Was great to work with and everyone loved the band. People danced the entire night. Very communicative before the wedding and everything went perfectly. So happy we booked them for our daughters wedding on 10/22/17 at 21 Main events at north beach in north Myrtle Beach, SC. Several of the guests are professional musicians and they raved about the band. If you are looking for a super band to make the Reception party fun, Book Them,,
FABULOUS! Booked this band for our daughter’s wedding at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt Pleasant SC. We heard they were great in the Atlanta area but were a little nervous about which musicians we’d get in the Charleston area. After requesting a female vocalist we heard at the Tin Roof in Charleston we committed. The band and vocalist couldn’t have been more fabulous! The dance floor was rocking until the last song. Exceptional value for the money spent on a 8 piece band. I highly recommend the horn section!
The Emerald Empire Band was awesome and were so flexible and easy to work with during all of my wedding planning. Their sound is great!
Amazing!!!! This band is incredible. We had the string quartet during our ceremony and cocktail hour, and the music was beautiful. For the reception, we had a 7-piece band, and all our guests had a blast. These are extremely talented musicians who can play pretty much anything you want. So many people have asked us who they were and how they can hire them for their weddings too, and I am more than happy to recommend them for any type of event! They were just fantastic.
I hired Emerald Empire Band for my husbands 40th birthday party. I wanted Frank Sinatra style music played. It was a small venue and we only used a 4 piece band that evening. I cannot speak highly enough about their performance. The songs they sang were perfect, their sound was just as I expected, based on the sample songs I listened to on their website. They really set the mood for the party and I am so glad I hired them. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Professional, extremely talented, and a pleasure to work with. Thank you so much for making the evening truly a night to remember!!
Absolutely amazing! The planning process was beyond easy and stress-free with the online planning worksheet and contact. We loved how we could customize the size of the band depending on what exactly we were looking for. We originally booked the 3-piece, but after seeing them live at the local showcase, we knew we had to have some horns. Emerald Empire was the PERFECT band for us! They played such a large range of music, and knew exactly how to get the crowd up and dancing. We saw some family members on the dance floor who we have NEVER seen dance before! All through the night people kept commenting on how great the band was, so we know we made the right choice!
We used Emerald Empire for our wedding reception. It's been 3 weeks since the wedding and people are still talking about how great the band was. The dance floor was full the entire night! Richard was great to work with.
My husband and I were married on May 13th 2017. We had a GREAT experience with the Emerald Empire Band! There are so many big decisions to make while planning a wedding. The Band, of course, is a big one. I couldn't have asked for a better band. Emerald Empire Band was professional, warm, accommodating .. and did a phenomenal job! The whole wedding day experience was seamless. I reviewed countless bands during the planning process, and I am 100% confident that hiring the Emerald Empire was the right choice. Thank you Emerald Empire Band!!
This is the second time around we hired Emerald Empire Band. They performed at both of my daughter's weddings and each time they were exceptional! I cannot say enough about the exceptional attention to detail, special request, and nonstop entertainment. They will not disappoint!
The Emerald Empire Band helped make my wedding day absolutely perfect. They were so easy to work during the planning stages, and the online planner made it easy to organize things. They played a variety of music just like we asked for, and best of all, they kept us dancing all night long! I got so many compliments on them during the reception. Everyone thought they were AMAZING!!! I couldn't be happier with my choice to book the Emerald Empire Band for my wedding and would highly recommend them to everyone!!
Professional, prompt, responsive, and engaged throughout the wedding. We booked a 5 piece band to include the horns-worth the investment. This group made my wedding and set the tone for the night. Responsive to all my requests and easy to work with. Made cocktail hour music subtle and relaxing, but later in the evening they had everyone up and dancing within 2 songs.
Once we saw The Emerald Empire Band at a preview event, we had no doubt that they had to be the band for our wedding. We were so right! We truly danced all night. Manny and the band were on top of everything and so accommodating with sound, providing a mic for the ceremony and toasts, and selecting music that really set the tone for a fun atmosphere, including the selections that played while they were on break. Talented, top-notch professionals!!!!
We hired Emerald Empire Band to play at the reception at my wedding. We went with a 6 piece band and it was honestly the best money we spent on the entire wedding. We had so many people tell us what a great job they did and how much fun they had. The band really did sound incredible and knew how to keep everyone on the dance floor having a great time! They were very professional and easy to work with in terms of the planning process too. Highly recommend this band!
What an amazing band! I would highly recommend them! They are both professional and interactive and probably some of the nicest and most fun people I had ever met! I cannot wait for another bride to hire them! 5 stars are not enough!
In the months leading up to our wedding, my wife and I weren't necessarily sold on booking a live band. We figured we would put together our own playlist for the reception and everything would be fine. However, we received a glowing recommendation from our photographers regarding Emerald Empire Band and decided to look them up online. Wow! So many great reviews and stories of satisfied customers. We decided to book them for our big day and we're so glad we did!
Our initial contact was Richard and he was amazingly upfront, clear, and encouraging throughout the entire process. He worked diligently to put together the perfect band for us based on our preferences and even made the time to talk with us multiple times to double-check all of the details. On the day itself, our band showed up early with smiles on their faces. Impressive considering we were getting married so far out in the mountains! They were never in the way while setting up and took the time to check in with us so everything went just as we planned it. They sang our first dance and knocked it out of the park! The singer's voice was fantastic and the musicians sounded clean and professional. The selection they played was enjoyable for all ages, which was important for us considering the ages of our guests ranged from infants and toddlers to grandparents in their 90's. During and after the wedding, I had multiple people ask me where we found our band and how to get in touch with them.
We are extremely grateful to Richard for making the process so easy and to Emerald Empire Band for helping to make our wedding so much more intimate. We highly recommend you try them out!
Amazing band!! Everyone was dancing all night long and I received so many compliments on the vocals and the energy they had!
I would highly recommend this band!
Emerald Empire Band was the best choice we could have made for our daughter’s wedding. Kelly McCarty was extremely responsive and professional while planning the music to our daughter’s taste. Each musician and vocalist are EXTREMELY talented, and we would hire them again in a minute! The band knew how to read the crowd and we received NUMEROUS compliments on the band. I will have to say that the demo they have on their website does not compare to how good they are in person.
As a planner, you really need the people you recommend to deliver. I couldn't have been happier with Emerald Empire Band! Not only was their performance first-class, they were organized, courteous, and professional. And they kept the dance floor packed all night! They're FUN as well as talented, they're the real deal!
We could not have been happier with the Emerald Empire Band! We booked the band for our wedding in Savannah this April and they did such an amazing job. Richard has really got the wedding band gig down to a science and you can really tell he knows what he's doing! Once you book the band he sends you an email with a link to your personal page where you can input timelines, music preferences, special requests and has all kinds of great tips and hints. This is such a great tool! We gave the band a pretty broad list of music we personally liked and would like to hear played at the wedding and the band took the list and ran with it. They played a great variety of music and had the whole crowd up and dancing. The musicians are very highly skilled and the MC did a great job. They even played a Phish song at our request! Also, they allowed one of our guests on stage to sing a tune. The Emerald Empire Band really helped make our wedding a night we will never forget and I HIGHLY recommend using them if your looking for a band in the Georgia area!!!
Emerald Empire Band was amazing. We did not need much for our function, but they were willing to do whatever we asked. All band members were polite and friendly. They seemed to love what they do, which made for a great energy. I would definitely book them again.
As a wedding planner in the Atlanta area, we trust Emerald Empire with several of our couples. They always do a great job on the day of, and they are so organized leading up to it. Organization is where I feel bands are normally lacking, but I never have an issue with EE. They are great all around and always provide a great party!
We recently hired the Emerald Empire Band to perform at my son's rehersal dinner on St Simons Island and I can't say enough about how everything went. This was especially tricky in that we live in New Hampshire and the event was in Georgia. Not a problem, as Richard handled everything from the very start. He coordinated everything with the venue's owner , making it very easy for us. Once the event occurred we couldn't believe how well the guys played, covering everything from Bruno Mars to the Georgia Satelites. I can not recommend the EEB enough!
We hired Emerald Empire Band for a corporate event with about 200 clients in attendance. It was a huge success, in no small part due to the band. They were extremely professional and easy to work with...very flexible, even on the fly. The planning portion gave me confidence that the band was not going to be one of the million things I needed to worry about leading up to the event. They were great!
As an event coordinator, I was looking for a new band that I hadn't yet hired for my clients. Leading up to our wedding weekend, they were responsive and helpful. During our wedding reception, they were amazingly talented, versatile, high energy and all-around impressive! Many of our guests indicated that they had never heard such a great wedding band and other commented that they felt like they were at a concert. I would absolutely trust them to delight any of my clients. You won't regret hiring the Emerald Empire Band!
We had our wedding at a beach house on folly beach and Emerald Empire put on a legendary performance! We had about 60 guests and we got compliments from everyone regarding the band. When Mike channeled his inner Bob Marley for the reggae set, it literally stopped people in their tracks - and Zandrina needs to get on American Idol or The Voice because she is incredibly talented. We were also incredibly pleased that the band was able to play spanish/latin music for the spanish side of the family. Overall it was a magnificent performance and we can't thank them enough for making our special day that much better!
Emerald Empire Band couldn't have been a better wedding band. From my initial contact with their manager, who was incredibly accommodating and friendly, all the way to the end of our wedding reception, they were more than I could have ever asked for. Not only were they all incredibly friendly, but they were all amazingly talented. Sam, the frontman, could sing any song in the style of that singer. He did the best Prince impersonation I've ever heard. We had a 7-piece band (they can range from 3 people upwards of 12 or 13, I believe), including Sam, the male singer and guitarist, a female singer, 2 horn players, a drummer, bassist, and keyboardist. Not only were they all fantastic musicians, but Sam did a great job keeping the atmosphere lively (but not crazy), and encouraged people to dance in a nice, nonintrusive way.
As a musician myself, I was highly impressed by the band's ability to segue way songs into each other, much like a dj would do. Their medleys were very impressive, and at one point during Rapper's Delight, the trumpet player freestyled an entire section and absolutely killed it. When Sam, the frontman, found out that I played bass guitar, he asked me if I wanted to sit in and play with them for a song. I politely declined, because I still had people to talk to and wasn't in the right mindset to play live music, but the thought and consideration to even extend the invitation was incredible thoughtful of him.
All of these reasons should be enough to convince anyone that this is THE wedding band to have, but I still haven't described the cherry on top. For my wife and my first dance, we danced to the recorded version of First Day of my Life by Bright Eyes. At the end of the night, after the band was done and everyone was out front waiting for us to come and say goodbye, Sam and the keyboardist (with absolutely no direction or indication from anyone) started playing our first dance song. Since all of the other guests were out front and not in the reception area, my wife and I danced together, alone on the dance floor except for our friends surrounding us in a big circle. It was one of the defining moments of my wedding day, one of the most emotional (besides the ceremony of course), and it wouldn't have been possible without this amazing band.
You will not regret choosing this band for your wedding or any other event.
A group of great musicians that were very organized and easy to work with. Everyone stayed on the dance floor all night!
I cannot say Emerald Empire Band ruined my wedding because the groom and I married and that was the most important thing, but they definitely ruined the reception. The band was a total waste of money and I wish we would have just made our own playlist. They were incredibly unprepared and disjointed. It took them about 2 minutes between each song to figure out what to play next. They didn't know the timeline of when to play or what order to play songs. I, the bride, had to leave the receiving line to tell them to begin to play for the cocktail hour and also had to stop them from playing the father/daughter song out of order.
Our instructions on the band worksheet were clear; we wanted to dance. We requested mellow love songs for the cocktail hour and got terrible muzak instead! We requested Motown and dance hits for the reception, but got 90s music like the Goo Goo Dolls, Dishwalla, Eagle-Eye Cherry and Gin Blossoms. The toppers were "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind (a song about suicide) and "Waterfalls" by TLC. Seriously how is that dance music!?! Not a single Motown song was played the entire evening.
I went up to them pleading for something danceable at around 9:00 and they played "Must Be the Money," but only after bragging to the seated crowd that they were going to play hip hop. Immediately after the song, they went back to lame 90s rock. At 10:20 my coordinator went to the stage with her iPhone ready to plug in so anything else could come through the speakers. Finally, the band played "Uptown Funk" and people began dancing; too bad it was ten minutes before the groom and I left. I hear people continued to dance until the event ended at 11:00 however, we were there to enjoy it.
I didn't get to dance with my mother, my step-father, my sisters or my friends at my own wedding because the band played the most terrible sets I have ever heard. This was the most important piece of the reception to me and Emerald Empire Band destroyed it. If you want good music at your reception, DO NOT HIRE EMERALD EMPIRE BAND!!!!
Response from Emerald Empire Band:
Thank you for your comments. I’m disappointed that we were not received well. I take full accountability for their performance, but to go some ways to explain, our lead signer was hospitalised 2 days before your wedding, leaving the band without its leader. I feel strongly that the service that you received are not in any way normally indicative of our level of quality.
I do think it is important to assure you & any potential clients reading this that we have taken an active approach to ensure we are better prepared in future. I am incredibly sorry that it was your event that suffered as a result of this unfortunate circumstance.
The last thing I would want to do would be leave you without a band the day before your wedding & I hope that my attempts to speak this matter through after the event & to provide a significant refund help show that this is not a matter we take lightly.
It was a pleasure working with you both, we wish you all the best & can only apologise again.
This band was great. I have never been to a wedding where more people were on the dance floor most of the evening. Everyone in the band was professional, and their musicianship was obvious. I saw a few eyes open wide when Zandrina started singing. The bandleader for the evening also served as emcee. He did a seamless job of timing all events as well as transitioning the pace from easy listening dinner music to a rousing finish that left everyone (young and old) wanting more. My son and new daughter-in-law could not have been more pleased with their reception!
Everyone loved The Emerald Empire Band! Our daughter's wedding was small ( 60 guests, including the bridal party); however, the band filled the space with wonderful music. We had the 5 piece band. The room was rocking when excitement was needed, and nicely romantic when appropriate. Our MC, Sam, was awesome! Many people commented that it was the smoothest flowing wedding they had ever attended.
The Emerald Empire Band was so good our guests are still raving weeks after the wedding. In addition to being great musicians, they were great at getting the guests involved and on the dance floor. When we had an unexpected health issue that disrupted our reception schedule, they were able to deal with the changes so professionally no one knew there were any problems. I highly recommend this band for your wedding or special event.
All I can say is stop your search here...hire Emerald Empire Band!! I have attended countless weddings over the years and without a doubt Emerald Empire Band put on the best performance. They are an incredibly talented group of musicians and they made our wedding a night our guests will never forget. The group we hired was nine pieces and they weren't just talented, they were incredibly fun! They had all of our guests out on the dance floor the entire night. At one point I looked out over the tables (114 guests) and there were 3 people sitting! That's pretty exceptional and I attribute it to their incredible performance. Their set list was amazing and they adjusted throughout the night to keep the crowd going, yet they were still flexible enough to take requests. Their rendition of Purple Rain will be remembered by every guest that attended our wedding! Our favorite guest quotes of the evening were, "I knew I was coming to a wedding, I didn't know I was coming to a concert" and "We went to a wedding and a concert broke out". Our guests are still raving about the band and I think they will be for years to come!
I think we need to mention that we planned our wedding from afar and the band was incredible to work with throughout the process. Mike answered countless emails and phone calls and he truly delivered on every request we made. He was a pleasure to work with!
Emerald Empire Band was perfect for our wedding reception and we had so much fun with them. Their planning process is so organized and easy. They were worth every penny. They really made our night!
