Eliana Marcia & Banda Azul

We will provide a musical performance of the highest professional level. Eliana Marcia is a true class act. You will hear a variety of original compositions as well as Brazilian classics. Most of our songs are sung in Portuguese but there are some songs that we perform in English. Our shows are family friendly and multi cultural.

Coming from Sao Paulo, Brasil Eliana's music can be described as "music without borders". Her beautiful blend of musical genres combines the sounds of West-Africa, Brazil and the USA. In her colorful music, Eliana Marcia often sings of magical places, ancestral spirits and the struggle of a people all in her beautifully poetic native tongue. When ask what her music sounds like she simply replies: "Aqua (Water), Terra ( Earth), Fogo (Fire), Ar (air) e meus sentidos (and my senses)".
Her quest to shatter cultural barriers is also reflected in her band which consists of musicians from Brazil, USA, Germany, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

A beleza da mescla de seu estilo, faz com que seu gênero musical, numa combinação de sons que vem do Sudoeste-Africa, Brasil e USA. Na sua música vibrante, Eliana Marcia canta sobre a magia dos lugares. O espirito dos seus ancestrais. A história e a luta pela liberdade do seu povo. Na sua bela e poética lingua nativa. Sua busca em quebrar as barreiras culturais, vem refletida em sua banda também, que está formada por músicos do Brasil, USA, Alemanha, Venezuela e Porto Rico.

Our emphasis are on the musical performance. We are mostly self-contained and will supply our own equipment. However, when performing larger venues we will depend on the promoter/client to supply a sufficient PA / sound system and lighting. (this is usually worked out during the contractual agreement}. Since the size of our group varies based on the performance, so does our performance space requirements. Again this would be discussed prior to hiring our band during the contractual agreement.
