Elebration

My life has usually been split between some sort of intense community organizing and DJing. I began DJing in 2009 while going to every teen Philly "Party Music" party I could with my bro, Troy. We really had a run where we partied every weekend for probably at least an entire summer (you can ask him, he has the records). House parties, halls, sweet 16's, venues, e.t.c. I was either attending or DJing. Throughout the years, I've been extremely rooted in Philadelphia Black history, activism, arts, community development, and political action. I've organized neighborhood cleanups, career education internships, youth entrepreneurship opportunities, managed schools and community center programs in North and West Philadelphia, and lobbied for reparations in Philadelphia. In the between time, I've DJed for and with artists of all kinds, nightlife, festivals, and of course community events across the City of Philadelphia and the world.

Now, my premier events are Movement & Melanin and Underground Sounds, one featuring music from the global afro-diaspora and the other featuring dance music from my hyper-local community and regional family. Elebration is the brand and h'ohm of my events. This website is primarily where you can listen to published and unreleased music. #PhillyClubMusic is what I produce, primarily—in a contemporary fashion. I flip the records that I like, and that I feel like I need to into club and house tracks. My IG @djreezey is where you can see content from my events and some of my community work.
