Dr. Hillary Anger Elfenbein, Ph.D.

Dr. Elfenbein presented a lecture on Women in Negotiating to the Washington University Womens Society as a feature in our Education series. She was amazing in both content and delivery. Our members rated her excellent in every measure. She was engaging, interesting, relevant and entertaining. We also appreciated her personal experiences and willingness to engage with our members after the lecture.

Hillary presented a session on negotiations for BOLD 2022 – a summer high school program hosted by the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Hillary taught general negotiation concepts and strategies like “BATNA-Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement” and “ZOPA-Zone of possible agreement.” She had an activity planned where students applied what they just learned and negotiated with each other in a mini competition. In our post-program survey, a handful of students identified her session as one of their favorites. One student said, “I very much enjoyed the professor who taught that (negotiation) course because she was very easy to learn from compared to many professors out there.” Hillary is a high energy, passionate speaker. She prepares engaging activities for the group that furthered their learning and she was excellent at getting everyone involved in the session.
