Dr. Daylight's Jazz Company

“If Frank Sinatra hung out in New Orleans…” Grab your white handkerchiefs and parasols, and get ready for a second-line parade! Dr. Daylight’s Jazz Company engages crowds with its rich, energetic shows. Since forming in 2018, the Lafayette, LA-based jazz ensemble has traversed traditional jazz standards and reconstructed top 40 arrangements with a twist of jazz. Most recently, notable crooner Spencer Racca has joined the Company and delights crowds with his Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley vocal stylings. Additional personnel of Dr. Daylight’s Jazz Company includes present and past music professors and instructors. Dr. Daylight’s Jazz Company provides opportunities for students to interact with a professional band where they will have hands-on experiences to develop skills such as critical listening, performance techniques, rhythm, arranging, and improvisation.
