She is a former high school teacher and former Education and Training Director at Helen Keller Hospital and HCA Medical Center of Plano, TX. She served as a faculty member and department director for Heritage Christian University for 8 years and has served as a counselor focusing on marriage and family issues for the Alpha Center in Florence, AL, since 2001. Betty is the Author of "Emotional Fitness: A Counselor’s Perspective" and is in demand as a teacher and speaker for women’s groups across the country. She and her husband, Willie, have four children and five grandchildren.
