Overview
Donna Elise Scott is a versatile, sultry, contralto, and an award winning GRAMMY recognized jazz singer who also does a bit of blues, R&B, pop and even country. Donna has performed as a featured soloist and band leader in local and global jazz festivals, venues and private events. Whether it’s NYC, Chicago, Denver, Houston, LA, Santa Fe, or Detroit, critic describe her shows as a vocal treat! A native Chicagoan who now now lives in Houston, she has wowed audiences wherever she performs. She has two CD’s Somehow I Knew (2015) and Carnival (2017). Her third album “A Carpenter from Chicago will be released in Spring 2020. She has a MA in Vocal Jazz Performance and a BA in Music.

What an event Donna was awesome and sang her heart out. My favorite was Sade songs. I had no idea how this would work for dr poindexter while patients were sitting in the chair. The rain New Orleans style food sugar rush cupcakes family friend both old and new came out to celebrate dr poindexter birthday. Thank you Donna and look forward on seeing you at your new cd debut on Thursday April 23 at club 4212 on alameda.

Using her special mixture of ballads, straight ahead and contemporary jazz songs, Donna Scott weaves a musical spell with that Old Black Magic called her love of jazz. Audiences will swoon, sway, dance and even croon as she serves her jambalaya of old and new school jazz songs. And, they will be back for seconds and thirds in weeks and months to come.
