David Stoltz (DJ Stoltz) started music when he was only six years old on the piano, first learning music by ear and then eventually receiving music lessons in McMinnville, OR where he studied classical music. When he went into middle school he started on alto saxophone and played from 6th-7th grade, after which moving with his family to Bend, OR where he finished 8th grade playing tenor saxophone, piano and started on drums while being exposed to jazz, funk and r&b styles of music. In high school he expanded his saxophone playing to baritone and soprano saxophones, became a permanent drummer/percussionist in Mountain View High School's jazz ensemble and in 2004 created his own label DJ Stoltz Records after discovering the possibilities of digital music production using programs such as FL Studio, Reason and Adobe Audition.
2004 marked the beginning of Stoltz's DJ career, first performing for iSky's employee picnic where he had a job doing phone surveys, then eventually iSky's Holiday Party. David realized he had a love for performing at events and being responsible for the entertainment and this quickly expanded into his own mobile DJ business where he has since performed at a variety of weddings, birthday parties, sweet 16's, corporate events, school dances, proms, holiday parties and other events. 2006 marked his start of obtaining a music degree in college at Lane Community College being involved with the Lane Jazz Ensemble, Lane Symphonic Band and Jazz Combo programs performing on saxophone, piano, drums and percussion.
David has been involved with various musicals throughout Oregon including "They're Playing Our Song" (drums/percussion/sound effects), "Seussical The Musical" (drums/soprano saxophone), "Chicago" (drums/alto saxophone), "I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On The Road," (drums/alto saxophone) "Man Of La Mancha" (drums/percussion/guitar) and "Three Penny Opera" (drums/percussion/laptop programing and sequencing). Awards obtained includes a Varsity Letter Award, Outstanding Senior Jazz Musician and Outstanding Musician at Mountain View High School; Oregon Jr. Bach Festival on piano, Recognition of Outstanding Musicianship on drums at the Reno Jazz Festival, and an Eagle Scout.
Today David maintains an active gig schedule and is currently obtaining another degree in computer science to assist with music technology software and debugging in his spare time. He currently resides in Duck Town USA (Eugene, OR - GO DUCKS!). David also currently volunteers to do the youth dances for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and through this is experienced in creating a dancing atmosphere that is both clean and enjoyable for all ages to enjoy.
Hannah Stoltz is David's "better half" and helps out at weddings where two DJ's are required or to individually cover another wedding when we receive multiple bookings for one day. Hannah is our slideshow and monogram/gobo specialist, assists with timeline preparation and offers a refreshing view to brides who are looking for ideas that are unique and creative. She also assists with the backend of our business. Hannah has always had a love for music, for weddings and she enjoys using her experience as a bride to help other brides planning their own weddings!
Dimitri's background of DJ experience come from youth and church dances where a variety of music is needed that is clean and appropriate for the occasion. His first mentor was with Pete Wilkinson (DJ Wilky) and is now working with DJ Stoltz Records this year as a wedding DJ specialist and is a great addition to our team! Dimitri is planning to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by the end of the year, personally enjoys country and dubstep music, and is versed in all styles of music that will keep your dance floor full the entire night.
Brian has been working with audio for ten years and loves doing so. He ran a small recording studio out of Klamath Falls, OR where he had the opportunity to record many different artists in a wide variety of genres. Currently he is back in school and has successfully completed the audio engineering program out at Lane College. In his spare time you’ll more than likely find him playing baritone sax or working on a computer.
Jessica has been with DJ Stoltz Records for the past couple years as a DJ and loves it! As a professionally trained dancer she has a natural appreciation and understanding of music and how it moves people. Her experience and expertise is with weddings and school dances. Every winter Jessica performs in a local production of Narnia, works at a local dance studio in Eugene and enjoys photography, family and church.
Kalena works as a wedding DJ with us and is very outgoing! She's not afraid to take charge and be your point of contact when it comes to coordinating the events at your wedding and making sure everything flows well together. She's currently working towards her degree at the University of Oregon.
Sets are created based on the needs and musical tastes of each client and their guests. We specialize in mixing all styles of music and can incorporate music from other cultures and languages with enough notice to properly prepare and get familiarized new styles of music.
