Growing up with parents that have educated him on his culture and influenced his musical taste, DJ Pabony, (Julio Pabon, born April, 17th 1984) a Puerto Rican native, has an profound relationship with music. DJ Pabony’s early memories include Parrandas in Puerto Rico and accompanying his father, DJ Julio Pabon, with many of his gigs as his assistant.
At the age of 11, DJ Pabony began his instrumental career in Rochester, NY. For the past 20 years, DJ Pabony refined his craft as a percussionist and holds a Degree from the University of Miami in Music Business and Entertainment Industries and Percussion Performance. Prior to DJing, He has had many professional percussion experiences in major metropolitan areas like Miami, FL (Congero for UM Salsa Orchestra), and New York City (Percussionist for Manhattan Samba and Samba! New York). DJ Pabony is also the Musical Director for local Salsa, Bachata and Merengue group, Sonidos Unidos and teaches Latin and World percussion at the prestigious Eastman School of Music.
Within in the past year, DJ Pabony has realized his love for DJing and making people happy with the music he plays. He uses his abilities to as a professional percussionist to read and entertain his crowd. DJ Pabony end goal is to make people enjoy their time on the dance floor and introduce people to way he hears the music.
Now a regular fixture of Rochester, NY latin dance scene, DJ Pabony has had the opportunity to share his love for Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Kizomba/Zouk genres. Recently, DJ Pabony has the opportunity to share the stage with DJ Nolsen in Denver, CO and fill in at theEpic lounge in Buffalo, NY for Baila Salsa friday night social. DJ Pabony looks forward to more international exposure and continue to grow as a DJ and Musician alike.
