I am a Northeast Ohio based DJ with a master's degree in communication. During the week, I teach public speaking at Kent State University, and on the weekends, I DJ weddings and other special events. Plus, I now offer greenscreen photo booths and LED uplighting!
As a host, I have a great skill set, and I always work hard to make sure any event I am a part of is a success.

August 8, 2023We truly enjoyed James DJing our wedding. He was great at facilitating the whole wedding and made sure that everything was on schedule. He walked around making sure guests were ready for the next parts of the wedding and made sure everyone was having a great time. We highly recommend James as he was easy to work with!

August 7, 2019DJ James was awesome. We requested some non typical music and he blended it in flawlessly with music to keep the party going. We planned everything for our wedding in advance through a sheet he provided, which took a lot of pressure off our shoulders when planning the entire evening Everyone at the event was raving about how much fun he was. His light up jacket, shoes and Glasses were a big hit. I highly recommend DJ James for any event!

November 13, 2014DJ James Hayes showed up when he said he would (an hour and half prior to the estimated start time). I could tell he was professional right off the bat. The ceremony had to change from outdoors to indoors due to weather and he was able to react and have his systems set up prior to the ceremony starting. He played all the music we requested and made sure there were fun songs for all ages. His music got a lot of people to the dance floor which made the wedding enjoyable and not boring. If you have any event I recommend DJ James Hayes for his professional and fun experience he provided and on top of that his price could not be beat!!

My basic services include a PA system (big speakers), microphones, and LED dance lights.
I have the capability to provide several add-on services including karaoke, LED uplighting, and my greenscreen photobooth.
Beyond equipment, I offer my services as a DJ and MC with five years of professional experience DJ'ing hundreds of events. Ahead of the big day, I work with you to plan out the entertainment and music for the evening. I charge a flat rate, so you have me for the whole day. If you need me to set up early, provide music for a wedding ceremony, or cocktail hour it is no trouble nor added expense.

My career as a DJ started when my high school marching band couldn't afford a DJ. I stepped in to DJ it myself and I had so much fun I have been playing music ever since! I love to make people happy through music and to entertain.
