What to expect
🎯 Before the Event: Booking & Planning
We’ll meet you (virtually or in person) to plan. Michael offers “unlimited planning meetings” with every package — this includes helping craft your timeline (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, send-off), music preferences (must-play songs, do-not-play lists), and coordinating with your other vendors (photographer, venue, catering, etc.).
Expect professionalism and flexibility. Michael dresses appropriately for the event (formal or casual, depending on your style) and tailors his DJ/MC role to match the tone you want — from elegant and formal to fun and lively.
✅ On the Day: What His Services Include
When you book Digital DJ Colorado, here’s what you get (depending on your chosen package):
Full, professional DJ & MC coverage. Michael himself will be on the decks — not a random substitute. That means you're getting an experienced DJ/MC with dozens of weddings under his belt rather than an unknown.
- State-of-the-art sound system + backup gear. Provided as part of the package — you don’t need to supply anything.
- Wireless microphones. Useful for ceremony, toasts, speeches, announcements.
- Dance-floor lighting and ambiance. Basic packages include LED light bars, rotating LED disco ball, colored lasers, etc. Larger packages offer extras like up-lighting (programmable to your colors), ensuring the venue matches the vibe you want.
- Ceremony + reception coverage (if you choose that package). Rather than only doing the reception, you can have music and audio/MC coverage for your ceremony too — (ideal for vows, seating, processional, etc.).
- Custom, tailored music + flow. Michael works closely with clients to build a playlist that reflects their tastes while also reading the crowd — ensuring the energy stays high and the dance floor stays packed.

📋 What You’ll Need to Provide / What to Consider
To ensure everything runs smoothly, here are a few things you (the client) should check or prepare ahead of time:
- A reliable power source (especially for outdoor events). Michael brings his own equipment, but needs reliable power. If using a generator, make sure it’s appropriately rated — or rent his extra generator (additional fee).
- Enough space & shelter, if outdoor. For outdoor events: cover for DJ equipment (tent or sheltered area) to protect from sun/heat or sudden weather changes. He will bring a tent if needed for no extra charge, but must be requested beforehand. He will not perform if shelter is provided.
- A rough schedule / timeline of events. Before the wedding day: think through event flow (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dances, toasts, send-off, etc.) — that allows Michael to anticipate when to play music, make announcements, coordinate with vendors.
- Your “must-play” and “do-not-play” lists, and guest-song request guidance. This helps tailor the night so everyone’s happy. Also consider whether you want “open dance floor” or themed segments (formal dances, slow songs, high-energy sets, etc.).
- Vendor coordination and communication. Share your full vendor list (photographer, venue coordinator, catering, etc.) so Michael can coordinate timing, announcements, and transitions smoothly.

Influences and inspiration
🎵 Musical Influences & DJ Style — What Shapes the Sound
Michael embraces a wide range of musical genres. His repertoire includes Rock, R&B, Rap/Hip-Hop, Disco, Country, Jazz, Blues, Latin, Reggae, Techno — and more.
His “favorite music/artist” depends on his mood — sometimes he’s drawn to hard rock when he’s looking to get hyped, other times old-school hip hop, or modern house / drum-and-bass, or mellow “sing-in-the-car” road-trip songs.
Because of this, his DJ sets are naturally flexible and responsive — he doesn’t stick to a rigid “genre-only” playlist, but mixes and reads the room based on the client's preferences, energy of the room, time of night, and crowd. This allows him to adapt: maybe smooth jazz or blues during dinner or cocktail hour; rock, hip-hop or dance hits for the party; Latin, reggae or country depending on crowd requests.
He also brings what he describes as an “MC-style” sensibility: not just spinning tracks — but facilitating the flow of events (announcements, toasts, first-dance, cake-cutting, transitions) while seamlessly blending in music that reflects the couple’s and guests’ tastes.
In short: Michael’s influences aren’t about one sound — they’re about variety, energy, and reading the moment. He uses a broad musical vocabulary so he can create a unique soundtrack tailored to each event — whether that’s elegant and relaxed or high-energy dance-party.
