Deep River String Duo is a dynamic partnership consisting of Mary on cello and Yoshi on guitar. Both are classically trained musicians who have been performing together throughout Michigan for 15+ years. Past gigs include weddings, dinners, birthday parties, brunches, musicals, and other special events.
Deep River String Duo will make your favorite song their favorite song and can offer custom arrangements. The Duo can also provide amplification upon request for events hosting up to 250 guests.

MY Duo brought the Heat to my wedding. They added so much to an already special day. I lost count on how many guests complimented that they loved MY Duo's sound/music.

What to expect
Deep River String Duo currently features a set of mostly popular and jazz tunes with a repertoire list that can span 3+ hours of background music. Customized song requests can be honored depending on available preparation time and difficulty.
Wedding services often include segments such as: prelude/seating music, ceremony music (processional, unity candle/sand, recessional), cocktail hour music, and background dinner music.
Deep River String Duo is equipped to play in small, intimate acoustic settings or amplify for medium events of 70-250 people.
About
Deep River String Duo founding members, Mary and Yoshi, met in college while receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees in music.
Besides playing for special events, Mary and Yoshi continue to perform with various musical theatre groups in the greater Lansing area.
Deep River String Duo looks forward to providing quality custom music for your special event.
Additional booking notes
Deep River String Duo needs to be placed near a source of electrical power. The Duo needs to be provided two stationary chairs (no wheels) without arms (or asked to bring their own if chairs unavailable).
For outdoor events, a canopy or shade must be provided for extreme heat and sun protection for instruments and electronic gear. An alternative rain location must be designated and used if chance of rain.
