The development of her speaking specialties were created not only from her military career,  her work as hypnotherapist, spiritual counselor, and success coach, but also from her own life experiences. Dee is a healthy post breast cancer thriver, mother of a young adult with autism and the ninth of 13 siblings raised by a single mother. When she speaks about overcoming adversity and rising to success, it’s from true grit and experience.

She is the founder of The Heart Centered Institute, LLC, The co-founder of the founder of  Hands of Heart - an organization that empowers young adults on the autism spectrum to create and their own businesses using their special skills and talents. Dee is also the founder of Heart Centered Hypnosis and the San Antonio Director of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy. She has been speaking for over 28 years starting with a career in the Navy as a Public Affairs Officer. She’s spoken  at civic organizations on success and leadership, women's groups on personal development, business groups on goal achievement, and new thought groups on spiritual growth - to name a few.
