Dean Waterman, MBA
Overview
The best response to my speaking is personal application by the listeners! Utilizing stories, humor, personal experience, self-deprecation, I speak to what you want to accomplish. Whether a church group or business (strategy, organization, leadership, success), I am equally at home in both.
I currently serve as a consultant for faith-based organizations through my company, Faith Development Partners. I coach and develop leaders, provide strategic vision-casting, organizational development and team-building.
With 1,000+ speaking events completed, I'm comfortable in front of audiences and connect quickly with all ages. I work with you to determine the goal to be accomplished.

What to expect
The first question I will ask you: "What do you want your listeners to gain from what they hear?" This helps us work together to shape the desired outcome, and allows me to craft a conversation with the audience that accomplishes your goal(s). I use relevant stories, humor, and personal experiences to create a timely message, and do so with an understanding of the outcomes desired by you, and myself.
I connect easily with audiences, which I am humbled by. I don't pretend to be what I am not. If I cannot speak to what you are wanting to accomplish, I will tell you. Authenticity and integrity are most important to me, and I believe it conveys in what I speak about. People can sense the honesty.
Prefer no-tie, but if your event requires it, I am on it! Other than that, a bottle of water, good microphone (lapel or over-the-ear), and access to visuals is all I need.
About
Born in the Mid-west, adopted at the age of four, it's been a wild and crazy journey to where I am today, at 54. With 10+ years in the business industry of sales, real estate, and mortgages, and 20+ years in pastoral leadership, I've had the opportunity to experience quite a bit. I currently serve as a consultant for churches, schools, and faith-based organizations through my company, and recently published a book, Leading a Congregation to Relevance.
I have a wonderful wife of 25 years, and two young adults in the house. I enjoy humor (some would say sarcasm) and connect well with people from all age levels. Perhaps one of the most challenging things I have done in my experience is conduct over 130 funerals and memorial services for people I never met previous. I was challenged, but connected with empathy and compassion, one of the traits that has served me well in leading others and communicating to audiences when requested.
Now, how may I serve you, and communicate your vision and goal for the audience?
Additional booking notes
Preference is a lapel, or over-the-ear microphone (Countryman style). Having an easily accessed plug in for a MacBook Pro is a plus, or availability to send slides (with control) to the host. I am fairly low-key, so don't need much else (except maybe a bottle of water).
