Overview

David McNeil is a percussionist and composer in the North DFW and is currently in his second year of studies as a percussion performance major at Collin College. He is a member of the McKinney Community Band, the Principal Percussionist in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Collin College, and percussionist in the New Texas Symphony Orchestra. He mainly plays classical music but enjoys playing all styles and can play most percussion instruments.

What to expect

I am an experienced percussionist who has played in many ensembles from chamber groups to wind ensembles to opera orchestras and jazz combos. I am willing to work with most people and am easy going. I have and will play on recordings and live for many genres. Please contact for more info.

About

David McNeil is a percussionist, composer, and future educator in the North DFW area who believes in excellence through a commitment to hard work and the betterment of one's self.
He began his studies as a middle schooler and has since performed with numerous ensembles such as school bands, the 2014 Denton High School PASIC Marching Ensemble, Roots Percussion Independent, and a semi-professional production of "Carmen" by Georges Bizet.
David is currently in his second year of studies as a percussion performance and music education major at Collin College. He is a member of the McKinney Community Band, the Principal Percussionist in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Collin College, and private lesson instructor. David is currently working on three compositions for percussion ensemble "Convulsive Thoughts" "Lost Path" and "Calm ReFractions" which he plans to premiere in mid-2018.
David is a member of The Percussive Arts Society, The Texas Music Educators Association, and a composer with The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

Additional booking notes

I do not own larger percussion instruments such as timpani, a vibraphone, a xylophone, chimes, and concert bass drums, so those would need to be provided or I need a long enough lead time to rent them.
