Price range: $150 and up

Languages: English

Gig length: 30 - 240 minutes

What to expect

I will arrive 60 minutes early to allow time to properly set up in a timely manner so that i am prepared to start on time.

Generally, i play sets that last 45 minutes and then take a 15 minute break and repeat as needed for the duration of the gig.

I am good at "reading" the audience and adjusting my playlist to perform music that is appropriate and will engage the crowd.

About

Dave King is a singer-songwriter who hails from Connecticut, USA. He describes his music as “acoustic rock.”

Dave has just released a new song called "I Got The Shinin' Down On Me." It's a feel-good song that has a strong Motown influence.

In 2012, he released an album called "Danbury Days." The album contains songs that celebrate the glory days of Danbury, Connecticut and pay tribute to the Danbury Fair, the Danbury Racearena racetrack and the Danbury Westerners baseball team.

In September of 2012, Dave received an official citation from the State of Connecticut for his contributions as a songwriter and recording artist in support of and recognition of the history of the greater Danbury area. The citation was presented by Connecticut State Senator Michael McLachlan and signed by the Secretary of State.

In the fall of 2010, Dave released the very popular music video for his song, "Danbury Fair." The video went viral on YouTube and has received over 13,000 views to date.

Dave released his CD titled "Cats and Cars and Presidents" in 2007. The CD featured the song "This Old Car" which was enjoyed nationally on the Car Talk radio show on National Public Radio.

On hearing Dave's 2004 release, "Shades of Dave", Genevieve Will of (link hidden) said, “King invokes spasms of Bob Dylan-style storytelling to surface from the chaos with an astounding album stuffed with potential for success.” Shades of Dave showcased his poignant songwriting, moving vocals and rich musical talent. It contains 13 original songs that cover a broad landscape of musical and emotional territory. Songs range from the upbeat exuberance of "These Are The Good Times" to the melancholic isolation of "Nobody Sings To Me" in a very engaging and personal way. It’s no surprise that the song "These Are The Good Times" from "Shades of Dave" was chosen by producer/director Scott Caseley to be featured in his 2007 film, "Larry’s Home Video."

Dave's music has received airplay on radio stations WSHU-FM, WPKN-FM, WMNR-FM, Y105-FM, I-95-FM as well as on many podcasts. Dave has also appeared on the television programs "Richter Association for the Arts Presents...", "Danbury LIVE", "The Guitar Show", "Ideas At Work" and "Time Out."

He has performed in clubs, concerts and festivals so many times he’s quit counting.

In 2004, Dave performed at the New Haven Folk Festival, which featured folk music legend, Arlo Guthrie.

During the summer of 2007, Dave performed at the Beacon Sloop Club Corn Festival sharing the stage with folk legend Pete Seeger.

Dave’s steady schedule of performances throughout the years is a testament to his undying commitment to his music and its enduring quality.

Currently, Dave continues to perform LIVE on a regular basis and is in the process of writing and recording new material.
