About

Dani L. is a comedian ventriloquist from Anthony, Kansas. Dani was born into an out of the ordinary family dynamic. Raised by her grandparents, one of which was a Vietnam Veteran with no sense of humor and the other who worshipped Jerry Springer, Dani learned to find humor in anything and everything. Which has shaped her sense of humor into the random character you see on stage today.

Dani got interested in ventriloquism at a young age. Like a lot of kids of the 90s, she was obsessed with Lamb Chop, Barney, the Muppets, and Dinosaurs. While most kids were terrified of real puppets because of Goosebumps’ character, Slappy, she absolutely loved them!

Her first experience with ventriloquism was around the 3rd grade. It was then that she met a youth pastor who used puppets for her class. Dani was amazed and had to know how the pastor did it! The church also had a puppet choir that she volunteered to help with. It was there that Dani started to learn how to use a puppet. Sadly, she had to leave the church not long after.

A few years later, like the rest of the world, she was introduced to the comedy styles of Jeff Dunham on Comedy Central. And fell back in love. Peanut is forever her favorite of his. Like Jeff, she has been making her toys talk her whole life. Only she didn't know that she could make a career out of it. Before Dani met Miles, she did stand up comedy. It was fun but it always felt like it was missing something.

One day, Dani performed in Oklahoma and met Marquita Seifried, a local favorite ventriloquist. Seeing her with her figure Letty rekindled Dani's hunger for ventriloquism. One week later, she found Miles and the rest is history.

She says that her favorite part of her act is watching the crowd react to Miles.

"He is such a cocky little guy, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Ventriloquism is the coolest magic act ever. Working with Miles unlocked an awesome superpower that I wouldn't give up for the world! I never thought I would be able to make people happy just by playing with my toys, yet here I am."

She is definitely at home on the stage as she brings her character, Miles, to life in such a way that you will forget Miles is a puppet. Her act is a wonderful mixture of dialogs and storytelling that is sure to be fun for any age.

Performances range from PG to PG-13 rating. Dani has performed in various venues from Wichita, Kansas to Lawton, Oklahoma. She has also performed at the 2023 Sunflower Balloon Festival in Anthony, Kansas. When not on stage, Dani enjoys working at her hometown hangout, playing guitar for her church, and spending time with her family.

So who is Dani L? She says she's no one special. Just a girl playing with her doll. Born to an odd family and learned to make the best of what life has thrown at her.
