What to expect

When you hire me for live painting, you’re not just booking an artist. You’re adding a unique, interactive experience to your event.

I arrive prepared with my painting materials and set up a dedicated area where guests can comfortably watch the artwork come to life. Throughout the event, I work from observation, reference photos, and the atmosphere around me to create a custom piece inspired by your celebration.

For weddings, I typically focus on capturing the couple and an important moment or scene from the reception. Such as; the first dance, ceremony, sweetheart table, or another meaningful part of the celebration. I work throughout the event so guests can watch the painting develop from a blank canvas into a finished work of art.

Guests often enjoy stopping by throughout the evening to see the progress, ask questions, take photos, and experience the creative process firsthand. It becomes a natural conversation piece and an unexpected form of entertainment woven into the celebration.

At the end of the event, the couple receives an original painting that captures their day in a way that photographs simply can’t. Depending on the package selected, the painting can also be taken back to my studio for additional finishing details and a protective varnish before being delivered to the client.

My goal is to make the experience seamless for the client, engaging for the guests, and meaningful enough that the artwork becomes a lasting part of the celebration.

About

I’m Chaleuh, a Blaxican Southern California-based artist, muralist, and live painter with over 12 years of experience bringing stories, people, and special moments to life through art.

My journey as an artist began with a love for animation and visual storytelling. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Animation in 2018, and since then, I’ve continued to build a career creating murals, paintings, illustrations, and immersive art experiences.

Live painting became a natural extension of that work because I love the energy of creating alongside people. There’s something special about watching a blank canvas transform while a celebration is happening around it. For weddings especially, I’m able to capture the emotion, atmosphere, and little details that make the day uniquely yours and turn them into a piece you can keep for years to come.

I approach every event with intention, professionalism, and a genuine excitement to create. Whether I’m painting newlyweds during their reception, creating memorable artwork for a private celebration, or drawing fun caricatures for guests, my goal is always the same: to make art an unforgettable part of the experience.

Additional booking notes

My live painting setup is relatively simple and can be accommodated at most wedding and event venues.

Space: I require a small, dedicated area with enough room for my easel, canvas, supplies, and comfortable movement while painting. Ideally, the setup should be positioned where guests can see the artwork being created without interfering with the flow of the event.

Lighting: Adequate lighting is required so I can accurately see my canvas and colors. Standard venue lighting is typically sufficient. If the event space is dimly lit, access to a nearby electrical outlet for a small supplemental light may be needed.

Power: A standard electrical outlet is appreciated if additional lighting or equipment is needed. My painting process itself does not require significant power.

Floor Protection: Depending on the venue and setup, I may use a protective covering beneath my painting area to help keep the space clean.

Table/Surface: A small table or surface for painting supplies is helpful but not required if space is limited, as I bring my own equipment.

Sound: No dedicated sound system or microphone is required for live painting. I can work alongside the event’s existing music, DJ, or entertainment without disrupting the program.

The client/venue is responsible for providing a safe, accessible area for the artist and ensuring the venue permits painting activities. I bring my own painting supplies and equipment necessary to provide the service.
