Corey Black
Overview
Corey Black is a St. Louis born spoken word | hip-hop artist. He is most known for his affiliation with St. Louis collective The Force as their "resident poet" . Black's grit and tenacity also saw him perform on-stage with the Force in front of a crowd of over 20, 000 at the 2009 and 2010 Live on the Levee, opening for Lupe Fiasco and Common. In December 2012 Black debuted his one man show "No Filter" at the Missouri History Museum, and in June 2014, Black became the first ever spoken word | hip-hop artist to feature for the St. Louis Public Library's NOT SO QUIET! Concert Series.
In addition to his performing, Black also is the host of St. Louis' monthly Poetic Justice Open Mic night.
