Corban Welter
Overview
I am a singer-songwriter/folk musician, and a recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music. My music draws from folk, older country, blues, and bluegrass traditions. I play mandolin and guitar. I moved to Central WA in May, and have been performing locally since I arrived. I would love to bring my soulful songs and fierce instrumentalism to your party, event or venue!
I mix covers/traditional songs with my originals and try to read the crowd and play what suits the moment and audience best.
I often play duo with a mandolinist (me on guitar), but can also easily perform solo, or with a full band if budget allows.

What to expect
Expect to settle into a warm evening of songs, tunes, and storytelling. I like to interact with my audience and do my best to meet them where they are and share what I have to share in a personable and inviting way.
About
“Any old place I hang my hat is home sweet home to me.” This phrase is drifting line that shows up in many of the old American folk and blues songs Corban Welter holds closest to his heart -a traveler’s mantra of sorts.
As a singer-songwriter and mandolinist, Corban’s music is informed by traveling he did from a very young age. Washington State, California, Hawaii, Japan, Bahrain, Belgium, The Netherlands – and that’s just a start. He still hasn’t lived in one place for more than two consecutive years.
Corban is drawn to folk music for its rawness, its realness, its lack of pretense, and its storytelling. Equally inspired by centuries-old folk ballads and more contemporary songwriters like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, and Tom Waits, Corban is on a mission to write and perform the music that he thinks needs to exist, but can’t find in the world.
After graduating Berklee College of Music and in the wake of COVID-19, Corban moved to Leavenworth, WA. Keep an eye out for live performances dates around the Pacific Northwest in the near future.
Additional booking notes
For solo and duo gigs, I bring all my own equipment by default and only need a reasonably nearby socket to plug into. For band gigs, it would be best if you have a PA, though I might still be able to work something out if you don't.
