I entertain. I incite laughter. I engage the audience.
Stand-up Comedy is more than reciting a flaccid monologue. It is about seducing the audience, with humor, into a state of buffoonery.
As a performer, my goal is not simply to relate to the audience; rather, my goal is to lure the audience into identifying with the situations I describe. As they relate to the emotions I confront, our shared experiences, along with surprise and tension, will generate audible burst of glee.

You can expect an abundance of humor from me, and a roar of laughter from your gathering. I will rely on your input to customize a performance appropriate for your event. I can provide a performance anywhere between church-clean and cringe-worthy. Do you have topics you want to include? Do you have out-of-scope topics to exclude? Which, if any, "four-letter words" are allowed?
I want you to be delighted with your decision to have selected me, and that begins with setting expectations.
I partition my material into three categories, aligned with the MPAA film-rating system: G, PG-13, and NC-17. I write material with adult audiences in mind; however, young ears are occasionally in attendance. Although I can opt for clinical or highbrow terminology, I realize some topics are verboten. I don’t want to put parents in a position of having to explain coitus interruptus, sociopathy, or diphallia to their first grader. Chances are, those parents will not enjoy my performance, they will alert you, my client, who will in turn be disappointed in me. I prefer to avoid such a situation. That said, I like having a varied set of material to appeal to broader audience. I also consider some of my G-rated material to be "church clean" just in case someone wants to liven-up a funeral, pun intended.
Stephen Jeffrey Watson is a regular in the SLC comedy scene of about two decades in dog years. Originally from Louisville KY and born into a white trash dynasty, his family was the first on his street with both a toaster oven and a lamp fitted with a three-way bulb. His childhood heroes are Paul Lynde and Phyllis Diller, both of whom he resurrects with wit and one-liners. His nimble perspective is both a verbal memoir and a folly into the intellectual. He offers something for everyone: a laugh, a groan, a tawdry side-glance. When not squandering his time with comedy, he is raising chickens, composting, and backpacking with his devilishly handsome lover.
