January 6, 2023Our guests were amazed!
We surprised our wedding guests with having Tam there!! I don’t see many weddings with a magician, but we knew it was right for us. He was so easy to work with before hand and especially on the day off. Such a great personality and we are still hearing stories from our guests!

June 28, 2021Canceled on me two weeks before my party
I had him booked several weeks prior to my party to make sure it would go off without a hitch. However, two weeks prior to my party, he mysteriously cancels on me. Luckily I was able to find another magician to take his place but overall not a good experience.

Close-Up Illusions of Tam Vo
It is unfortunate that I had to cancel my performance on my behalf, due to a family business out of state that came up 2 weeks before the performance.
I did have a back up performer ready to go if the client wished to move forward with the substitute magician.
It is unfortunate that unforseen circumstances do arise and sometimes we can't do anything about it.

What to expect
My audiences should simply feel amazed and entertained. I am not there to "fool" or to "trick" my audiences, but to simply show them if magic really did exist, this is what it should look like. Whether I am performing strolling magic, or performing a formal close-up show, my audiences will have an evening they will never forget and always talked about, with an additional quiet sense of humor to lighten things up.
About
Hello, my name is Tam Vo, I currently reside in Southern California. I mainly specialize in the art of Close-Up magic, where the magic does not happen on a stage, but inches away from my audience, or even in their very own hands. I began my interest in magic at the late age of 18. After a year, I was accepted as a Magician Member at the World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA, and at the age of 25, I am now a regular Close-Up performer at the Magic Castle. I fell in love with Close-Up Magic because it is magic like no other. It is very intimate and personal to my audience. Only a small hand full of people on this Earth has witness Close-Up Magic, and it is my pleasure to share it with them.

Set list
I can stroll around your event during cocktail hour, during a wedding reception, at a restaurant, etc. performing for small groups. Or I can provide a formal Close-Up Show, the show that I perform at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA
Influences and inspiration
My main influence has been Lance Burton, the Magician in Las Vegas, who currently is retired. His magic is simple and pure. What he does looks like real magic. He also has a charming personality which has influenced me. Not only do other magicians influence me, musicians influence me as well. When a band plays on stage, you can see the passion they portray while performing. And I want to portray my passion for magic while performing for my audience.
