Alex Iverson (born 1980, Salt Lake City, Utah) took an unconventional path into magic. Unlike most professionals who begin in childhood, Alex discovered the craft at 22 — and within two years had transformed obsession into occupation, landing paid engagements and leaving his job as a waiter behind.
Los Angeles became the launchpad for his career. Transitioning seamlessly from tableside service to refined sleight-of-hand, Alex built a reputation strong enough to replace established performers and was soon hired as Resident Magician at Trump National Golf Club.
What began in restaurants evolved into something far larger. Recognizing the untapped electricity of nightlife, Alex brought highly technical, intimate magic into bars and premier nightclubs across the country. He has toured nationally five times, performing for corporate audiences and elite venues in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Sacramento, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and beyond. His work later expanded internationally with a month-long run in the heart of Tokyo’s nightlife scene.
In 2008, Alex competed at the Florida State Magic Convention, earning Best Strolling Magician (voted by attendees) and Best Close-Up Magician (judged by the Florida Association of Magicians). The rare dual recognition from both peers and the public cemented his standing among serious practitioners of the art.
In 2009, Alex relocated to Hawaii, where he spent five years performing regularly throughout Waikiki and the islands’ premier venues before returning to Los Angeles.
His work has drawn media attention, including a feature in a documentary screened at the Elevate Film Festival, along with coverage in L.A. Weekly and Honolulu Weekly.
In 2015 and 2016, Alex won the Strolling Magic Showdown at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood — one of magic’s most respected proving grounds.
In 2018, he performed at the wedding of Isha Ambani in Mumbai, widely reported as one of the most extravagant weddings in modern history.
After two decades in Los Angeles and Hawaii, Alex relocated to central Pennsylvania in 2022, expanding his presence into the East Coast market and the New York City magic scene.
