Classic Worship with David Straley

My music is 100% Jesus-centric music. If you love Jesus you should definitely consider me.
Actually, even if you are just "OK with Jesus," I may be the right performer for your event.
My music contains songs which are both upbeat, foot-tapping and dance-able and songs which are characterized by beautiful, flowing worship where the singular object of affection is God.
Depending on your stated preferences, I'll either stick to 100% music without commentary, or I'll mix the Gospel message into the song selections. I have played before non-Christian audiences more times that I can count and it's all been good so-far. I've played before Christian-only crowds less-often, but when I have, it's always gone well.
I play every event as if it could be my last one on earth. I'll put the same passion into your event.

I started music in Grammar school.
In Jr. High I played in a traditional school band.
In High school I was the guitarist for the school jazz band.
I also played guitar in a rock band during High school. We played at dances.
In my 20's I came to know Christ and almost abandoned music altogether.
However, as a new Christian, I became captivated by the Praise and Worship songs at my church. I had never heard that kind of music before.
So, I started learning them on guitar and formed a Christian group in San Jose. We played in secular locations.
Then I made a huge musical change; I switched from guitar to keyboard.
Years later I moved to Austin, TX and teamed up with two homeless ministries here, leading worship for each, on different days.
Over time I've acquired PA sound equipment, and this is now part of my sound. I've spent a lot of time learning the ins-and-outs of sound systems and have received many compliments from visitors who claim that I sound like I'm playing in a club or a "Vegas lounge" or at a music festival.
Live music has really become a part of me and is just yearning to come out and be part of more events. I hope we can discuss the possibility of working together! :)

All I need is electricity and a safe, dry location to play.
I have played outdoors seemingly countless times using a power generator. This is an option for your event. Of course, regular house power is superior.
If your event is outdoors at night, I will need to have bright lighting, almost like a sports game. If your event is indoors, lighting should not be an issue.
I have PA systems of several different sizes; I can bring a system which is best-sized to your event, and you can utilize the same for addressing the people at your event. There is no additional charge for me to bring and operate a PA system at your event.
I am very-much looking forward to talking with you, learning about your event, and hopefully bringing my music to it!
