Overview

I am a professional mezzo-soprano singer / soloist with a degree in vocal performance from West Chester University. I have sung in bands, on cruise ships and dinner theater; everything from jazz to classical to show tunes and popular songs. I have sung with Opera Delaware for 20 years. I sing for weddings (not the reception or with a band but for the actual wedding) and funerals and will work with you to make your occasion special and memorable.
I will work with the piano player or organist to prepare for your special day. I will sing any song you choose from popular to traditional wedding songs.

What to expect

I will show up on time wearing formal attire dress, skirt or pants suit. If you have a specific color scheme or theme I will be happy to accommodate. I will work with you to decide the best and most appropriate moments to sing during the service. It is nice to have a solo before the service as people arrive and then again at a quiet moment or during candle lighting during the service. The audience will feel at ease listening, as a live solo voice enhances their whole experience.

About

My name is Christine Shaw and I have been singing professionally for 30 years. I enjoy singing for weddings and funerals as a soloist. I will make your special event worry free. I have numerous songs in my repertoire and will work with you to choose the best songs for your occasion. My fees are reasonable. You will be pleased with my professional singing, appearance and promptness. I will be there to rehearse with an accompanist and I can sing acapella (no accompaniment) as well. I will travel inside the tri-state area (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania).

Influences and inspiration

I have sung at many weddings and funerals. The best experience is the one where the bride and groom are happy with their music and other choices and can sit back and relax and enjoy their planning knowing that the soloist and all other arrangements are going to go smoothly.
