Overview

Charlie Shea plays string bass and concert ukulele simultaneously while singing contemporary pieces, Celtic tunes, love songs, and Yuletide chants! I genuinely care for every experience in which I take part and dedicate myself to crafting the best atmosphere for the moment!

What to expect

Charlie's gentle presence and unique talents can be expected to elevate your event with an air of elegance and professionalism. She will perform an agreed-upon setlist, perfectly designed to fit any time slot. Her act traditionally includes vocal pieces accompanied by the dual-wielding, as well as songs featuring solos on in each instrument. Percussion added as needed.

About

Charlie Shea has performed in the Kansas City area professionally since 2013, when premiered as a composer by the Kansas City Symphony. In 2017, joined the cast of the Kansas City Renaissance festival as a Celtic singer, and it would be there the talents in dual-wielding instruments would emerge. Now a national act, touring to perform the unique "one-person band" instrumentation of playing string bass, ukulele, and simultaneously, while singing. Though genre preferences lie mainly along Celtic and Hellenic pagan themes, Charlie also finds passion in performing "renaissance heavy metal", americana and indie folk, swing and lounge, and yuletide tunes.

Additional booking notes

The only existing technical requirements is "large enough stages to fit the contrabass setup." Charlie prefers using house audio equipment for appropriate acoustics, but owns the necessary requirements to provide amplification if needed.
