About
Charles began playing rock music, in rock bands as many guitar players do and was self-taught for 10 years. It wasn’t until his twenties that he got interested in jazz and the more technical and theoretical side of music. His first self-released jazz album is titled “Quiet” and can be found on all streaming services. Outside of playing and writing, Charles is an accomplished teacher. He is an adjunct professor of jazz guitar at the University of Indianapolis and maintains a private studio of students. He lives and works in Indianapolis.

We work with our clients to select the best collection of songs from the extensive jazz repertoire. Our focus is on matching the clients wants and needs. It can include a collection of eras or just a single category as listed below.
Some of the standard repertoire includes:
Fly Me To the Moon, Girl from Ipanema, Moon River, Take the "A" Train, Our Love is Here to Stay, Satin Doll, Pennies From Heaven (etc)
Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Hoagy Carmichael, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk etc.
We also perform jazz from the cool and hardbop era such as music by
Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, John Coltrane
And a collection of contemporary jazz and original compositions
