Charles Platz Music Group offers live jazz music for events of all types. Acts include solo guitar, duet with horn or upright bass, jazz trio/quartet, and larger ensembles. CPMG musicians play mostly from the standard repertoire including the great American Songbook and Latin Jazz favorites.

Charles began playing rock music, in rock bands as many guitar players do and was self-taught for 10 years. It wasn’t until his twenties that he got interested in jazz and the more technical and theoretical side of music. His first self-released jazz album is titled “Quiet” and can be found on all streaming services. Outside of playing and writing, Charles is an accomplished teacher. He is an adjunct professor of jazz guitar at the University of Indianapolis and maintains a private studio of students. He lives and works in Indianapolis.

We work with our clients to select the best collection of songs from the extensive jazz repertoire. Our focus is on matching the clients wants and needs. It can include a collection of eras or just a single category as listed below.
